| | For a while now, my site has had low hits. It even had it before I moved here. It used to get about 100 a day (I'm not exaggerating either). Then it went to about 15 a day. Now, it's about 0-5 a day. Could someone please look at my site and help me out? I'd really appreciate it very much. My site gets so few hits now, that I can't get information from the few visitors it gets from the survey. The url to my site is: http://hamtaro.trap17.com
Btw, that's just an average amount. It's sometimes a few more than that. Please tell me some things that I can improve or take out.

I think my first suggestion would be to change the colours. Granted, orange and yellow go great together; but along with them already being bright colours, the monitor you look at to view these colours also has a brightness to it and it kills the eyes... Also, your website seems kinda bare of anything worth sticking around for. Don't you have any content that people could read, see or hear? That is probably your biggest problem right there. I can see the links because the image background is in conflit with the colors of the text links(dark blue), if you want to learn how to use the perfect colors, just download this tool: CODE C:\Documents and Settings\Lemony\Os meus documentos\colors - mundidesign.com.zip When i went there the chat didn't worked, alsow the guestbook, and it's too big,when i clicked the polls link, i had to search for. Look, maybe it's better if you make a smaller website, some visitors don't have big screens and not very good computers. Maybe this are some of the reasons for your question. Go to "emule 1n", and look for webdesign books from O'Reilly books, you'll find a lot of them. If you need any help pm.

One thing i have noticed with Pokemon, digimon, yu-gi-oh related materials go out of date quicker then flies on you know what. Maybe direct the page at more area to broaden who/what type of people come to the site try and get in a web ring as well.

You have to change your graphic chater. To day, yours looks like a beginner's one ! you must involve from an image as background and blue links to other things. Look at this site http://www.calendars.com/product.asp?IID=1...ID=-1&kbid=3164 : very simple, but nice to look at.

Thanks for the suggestions. I'll look at it whenever I can. I would have responded sooner, but I'm having some problems at home. Anyway, I've been trying to figure out a new layout. I've got the layout done, but I don't have a color scheme worked out. Also, what's a graphic chater?

For information on graphic design principles, go to http://www.mundidesign.com/ - this is the site that produced the local zip file in Lyon's post. I think you would benefit from a redesign of the site. If you don't want to invest time in learning graphic design and accessibility and validation and all that stuff, you could use a design from OSWD (Open Source Web Design). Lots of simple, effective layouts there that won't make people's heads hurt. I can't speak for other people, but if I visited your site in a search for hamtaro content, I would go to a site where I could read the text more easily. I also disliked the "splash" page that I had to click through to get in. Keep in mind these are only my reactions. Hope the traffic picks up for ya!

The bg is hard on the eyes, as previous posters posted. Plus, Hamtoro is probably not that high on the popularity list.

Well Take this MILLION DOLLAR Advice.... 1).Make Your Background's Color a little dark. 2).Make Your Text & Links color light 3).Give people a reason to come back again. 4).Put Your Sites Links on big Search Engines and Directorys.(Google, Msn, Yahoo) 5).Express yourself clearly... 6).Make your design layout look understanding 7).Add Good Graphics and Cool Scripts to amuse & attract people these are some of the tips.... that can make your go from ZERO to HERO... need more help, feel free to ask bye

The clours are tooooooo bright And the blue letters hard to read. I also think the size is to big. A website is 1024x756 most at the time yours is what ? double ? To many of the same pics fill the background. I think you have to change those things first and then see what happens. And Make ads for your site give them to your friends ask people to place a banner of your site ..... that will help. Hope i been some help.

wow man, the background is very distractive! don't use any images for background, they are almost always a bad idea since they make text too hard to read. You also need a more consistent interface... and one more question, where did the banner in your front page come from? Does trap17 force banners in hosted websites?

Possibly only if there are no replies (4) I've had the following happen to me twice within the past few days: I struggle with a problem
for three or four hours. Eventually I give in and post asking for help. While I wait for the help
I continue working on the problem. An hour or two down the road I figure out the issue on my own.
As such, I no longer need the topic I created. I'd like to delete it so as not to waste
people's time (and clutter up the sub forum), but I don't have the privileges to do so.
Being able to delete your own topics would allow users to self moderate, and cut down on....
Suggestion: "buying" More Space
Use credits for something else as well... (5) I'm thinking of setting up a system of "buying" more webspace for your site, just like the
domain name feature. Say, if you pay 20 credits, you get another 100 MB of bandwidth for your site.
Or, if you pay 40 credits, you get 10 MB more space. What do you think? Sorry, could you change
the "buy" in the title into "buying"? It seems like I'm trying to promote a paid hosting site.

A Suggestion For All Hosted Members...
(3) I would like to suggest something for all the hosted members on trap17. In your profile you have a
section called your personal statement. You can get the address of your website to appear there by:

Tutorial Index Suggestion
(5) A member (.nol) brought up an excellent point today. Index (table of content) of tutorials. An
easy way to browse what kinds of tutorials are available in Trap17--both general and GFX. The
simplest way of doing this is to generate RSS by sub-forum and then present it via Annex (for those
who do not know it's our Community page). Or, if OpaQue grants, I can include HTML code to
Tutorial Index forum post. Either way, it should be automated and updated according to RSS feed.

Suggestion For This Site
The initial posting requirement (5) I am a little annoyed by this initial posting requirement! I, like many people I'm sure
have been searching and trying out various free web hosts to see if they will run certain scripts
