| | Hello all, I have a problem which I hope you have a solution for. I was looking for couple of folders on my D drive and I couldnt find them (have not touched them for 3 months). I suspect that my young brther accidentally deleted them when he is playing his game on my laptop. Is there any way I can recover them? Can I use system restore to restore this specifc hard drive?!!
Please help me if you can. Any suggestion is appreciated!!

Yes you can do system restore for any drive on your computer. If you want to do system restore for the D Drive and the D drive start up system restore, click on System Restore Settings on the left and then look at the list of the drives being monitored. For any drives you do not wish to restore click on it and then click settings. You can then check "Turn off system restore for this dirve" I hope this has been helpful to you.

System restore doesn't work on files you have created! It backup only system files. If your drive D haven't been tough (adding new files) lately you may have luck using a program named restoration to undelete it. Get it from snapfiles

System Restore Only Works For 2008
- Windows XP professional (6)
Alright, I was being the smart kid that I am (sarcasm) and decided to screw with my registry for new
years. (Well, actually I was just checking out a key for a program I have). I ended up deleting the
key for my program in my registry and I don't have the key because it was a give away of the
day. So I wanted to try and system restore to restore my registry (at least I believe it does
that); however, when I went into system restore, the only restore points were the ones from January
2008. It would not let me go back into the year 2007. I know system restore saves...

Windows System Restore Leads To System Crash

I use windows XP Pro SP2 I was using system restore to get my computer back the way it was 6 days
ago. ( I accidently deleted some VERY important files). It restarted as normal, went through the
black start up screen, the Windows XP screen with the loading bar down the bottom and then.. A
droning noise, like something powering down. It continued to do that in an endless cycle. I have
tried starting it in safe mode, and the "Last known working configuration" but the same thing
happens. Today my Dad is bringing the back-up we made on his external hard disk but does any...
