| | I have my hosted account. I have a IPB 2.0 script that i want to upload onto my account.
What folder do i upload it to and how long do you think it would take? (56k)
Also how i 'mod' them, i know where to get the codes but where do i insert them?

Panzer you can create a new directory and upload all the files of IPB in it...Make sure that you are using the legitmate copy of IPB 2.0 (In case of cracked copy, your account will be suspended). Secondly, I wont have an idea on how much time it may take Thirdly, it depends on which MOD you are using...and if you are looking for detailed help then you can refer to the support site of that particular mod

I have uploaded IPB to my sites in the past and it takes roughly 10 minutes. When you make the new directory make sure to name it because that is how people get to your forums. So if you call it monkey it will be located at www.yourdomain.com/monkey Most every mod comes with an installation manual of some sort. Look for a ReadMe or Install Guide with the files that you download for the mod.

Well, i made a new directory called forums. I uploaded the enire content of the IPB folder (unzipped) onto it. I tried going to www.mysite.trap17.com/forums forums.mysite.trap17.com Both are 'this page cannot be displayed' Can anyone please help?

hmm, i sorta followed that how to set up a phpbbfm forum tutorial. I am uploading them in the public_html folder. Thats alright isnt it?

yup, panzer. www and public_html are one and the same. you should make your forums directory inside of either. the www just acts as an alias of sorts for public_html.

Well... I have uploaded the entire IPB 1.3 into the public folder. I tried to follow the 'how to make a phpbbfm' guide but i am stumped on QUOTE 11. Now your going to assign the user you just made, to the database you made before. Find where it says "Add user to database" and there should be 2 drop down menus. One of them, being the user, and the second, the database. Don't worry about all those checkboxes, it should already be set on "All" for you. In the first drop-down, find "YouUserName_forum" and then in the second one, do the same thing. And click "Add user to database". There is no such thing. I tried following the rest of the instructions but the same thing happened, NOTHING! I am disheartened and confused can somebody please help me? (or write a guide on how to do it)

where are you looking for this assign user thing at?? you should be looking for it in your MySQL Database manager, the assign user screen should look like the image attached

your not spamming up the forums, your giving other people the chance to look here if they have the same problem, and now that that is done, you should just enter the following settings when instaling your forum Database user: panzer_forum Database name: panzer_forum Database password: whatever you made the password i am only guessing that those are the database user and database names...

(3) Hi there. I have been trying to upload a zip file only about 2mb to my account through CPanel.
First I tried uploading it to a new folder in public_ftp. Then i tried to put it in the main part
of public_ftp. I also tried the same thing in public_html. It shows the file being uploaded, and i
get 100 %, but alas, when i look in the folders nothing is there. Is there a restriction on .zip
files? I have had no problems as of yet uploading htm and html pages. Please let me know ASAP.

Two Errors I Get.

Moving Phpbb2 Forums To This Host.
I want to make sure it goes right. (3) I am moving my phpBB2 forums from my old host, my-php.net, to this one. I have full access to my old
forums. I was wanting help on this to make sure nothing goes wrong. My forum members and I can not
risk having to lose all of our current information. So what I am thinking I have to do is. Export
my forums mySQL database with phpmyadmin. Import it into my database here on this host. Move the
forum directory to this sites ftp account. Change the root directory in my forum settings. I know
there has to be some things I have to change right? Some files or other settings....
Mods/admins Big Problems With Accessing The Forums Here! [resolved]
sme silly JS redirect all the time (7) Hi there Im having a nasty issue with accesing the forums when javscript is enabled in my browser,
both in IE6 and the latest FF, at the moment JS is off which is why im able to post this. Basically
when i access the forums the forums shw for a split secnd and then are replaced by a blank page with
a link saying "Click to show/hide »" with the url f that link being whatever page i wass trying to
get, with a hash, eg trap17.com/forums/# and if i click that link it just repeats with the forums

Question About Uploading Files
im sorry if someone already has a thread on this (3) I have been using Frontpage 2003 to make a website, it is basically complete but I need to know how
to upload the files. I have been playing around with the file manager and it seems like I have the
site there but in a very inefficient manner. Is there any way I can just use Frontpage to upload
the files and type in my password and username in Frontpage? If so, can you lead me to a thread that
explains it or tell me? If not, is there an easier way to upload files into the File Manager

this always seems to be a problem for my forums (8) I can never get enough (any, hehe) members for my forums, I'm wondering why. My forums are
usually well-rounded covering several topics, those topics may be unrelated, though, is that why

Problem (3) My website is up, but when I click on the links to get to the phpBB forums I have hosted, there
seems to be a problem. It is giving me errors. The forums have been kept updated with the latest

Installing php msg boards (9) I am trying to put php forums on my site. I think the only ones around are these
http://www.phpbb.com correct? even if there not they seem to be what most people use. I currently
have proboards which deffinelty leaves alot to be desired. What I am wondering is after i download
the forums and upload them via ftp. Where do i upload them to? the Public_html folder? and if so
can i edit and/make boards and categoirs etc just from being an admin on those forums or do i need

Firefox Log Out Problem
on my forums (2) I hope this is the right place to post. I have this wierd logout problem whenever I use Firefox .
I've setup the PhpBB forum package for my website and have also installed the extreme style mod,
