but then you also have subdomains: like http://history.pakdir.com/
I am not sure what the advantage of that might be, but it is certainly confusing - this is also reflected in the fact that you have a couple of dead links on your site. When. f.e you go and follow the link to here:

So some good starts - good content.

One further thing, you should try and create an overall feel for your page - similarly on your form or your feedback page. they look completely different from your main page, try and incorporate it more, so people can go back to your original page easily.

I will comment on your website on the following factors:

Layout:
When it comes to layout this is good. Fixed width is always better than 100% width. At first glance the layout reminds me of Yahoo. The only problem seems to be with firefox. The way it appears in internet explorer and firefox are somewhat differenet. Border looks ugly in firefox browser. May be you can make small changes to make it look more professional in firefox browser.

Header:
The logo reminds me of some branded jeans pant. A logo should be visible and conspicous which is not in this case. When we visit pakdir we must know that we are visiting it and next time we can identify it easily. If someone visits your site from search engine he may not even know which site he is visiting because the logo tells very little about the site. I suggest you put the Logo in the same line as the blue band on top of the page.

Design:
I like the design. A website which doesn't have much graphics in the layout itself is good because it loads fast and also search engines don't count those images much in anyway.

News:
May be you can get more news from other news source too, not only from the same source but from many different source so that visitors get maximum news out of one website, otherwise they may visit the concerned site directly.

I like (just like everyone else) the simplicity of the website but there are a few odd looking things that could use fixing. First of all, at the top the Blue bar with nothing really in it until the right side could be changed to add you logo and or something a bit more eye catching. Secondly, the coloring of the boxes in the layout. They are kinda random. I would (like Goosetaf) color code your sections so that they are easily distinguishable. Also, i would add a white section above the quote of the day and make the MSN Messenger title the same color as the rest.

Now, navigation. The three links at the top are not enough. I would add a navigation bar to the left or right side of the page so people can just click and go from one place to another.

Besides that it simple and good and has content. I would probably update a few images to make them clearer and a bit more entertaining just so people remember your site.

The nick generator didn't work for me either. The page is very ambitious, a lot of content, which is very good.

I suggest you do change your logo when you have the time. Something more exotic looking, that evokes Pakistan would be good.

As for the colors, the brown, grey and khaki go together as nice earthy tones, but the purple and white don't go with them. The blue is dull enough to go with the earthy tones, so it works all right. If you replaced all the white with a light tan color, it would look better. And replace the grey with another duller color that goes with the earthy tones. That would give you a professional earthy colored site.

Or keep the purples and the white and change the other colors to something more exotic. What colors are on Pakistan's flag? Maybe you could use those, and small icons of the flag for a little graphic detail that would not take long to load.

You should definitely have a section on travel, list the cities with airports, and show a map of train lines. Once you get the site up and some visitors, you can obviously make some money off of people looking for tourist information. Airlines, tour groups, travel agencies, and businesses like that are obvious advertisers on your site. For tourists looking at a site to see if they want to go there, it would be good to make your site more exotic looking.

A simple graphic or logo would be to take a picture of an exotic earring, or some local coins, then optimize the file size and put your site name with the picture. Just make sure you have a strong contrasting color behind whatever you take a picture of, so you can see the object clearly.

And the quotation box looks a bit odd being higher than the News box. Move the quotation box down so the top is even with the news box. You could put your logo picture first in the blue header box, then have the site name in larger letters, to the right of the logo, so it takes up more space to the right of the logo.

I don't know if its my computer or something but it does take some time for it to load. I don't know much about the coding or what you put into making the site but its not loading fast like some other sites.

The little header barcode image is sort of plain. Maybe you could find a better header image to make the site not look simple. I'm pretty sure it has been said already. The purple sort of conflicts with the other colors. Overall i like the design. I espcially like the ticker you have. That's cool.
