| | I just got hosted on Friday, and I just uploaded all the FTP files and SQL file. Now, I am losted at what to do. I thought since I uploaded all the files, it would work, but it doesnt. So, it uses sql? Did you put it to the right adress a.k.a localhost (because it's hosted on trap's server). Btw, what is not working? What are the error messages? We need the details because it's like saying, my computer doesn't work, can you fix the problem. Details details...

did you signup using gigapass.com like you said on your application? 1 you have not pointed your "DNS Record" nameservers to trap17 name servers yet. Until you do that I don't know how any of your data would be accessible. Your cpanel is accessible using the IP address only. QUOTE Your NS records at the parent servers are:

There are no error messages, it just doesnt work. :\ I uploaded all the files, and when I try to go to my site afterwards (www.gigapass.trap17.com) it gets the "Welcome to your site!" thing. :\ NilsC, where do I put those numbers? >_>

First, what folder did you upload your files to? Next, your batabase name is USERNAME_ then the database name, er, at least I Think it is... Also make sure that the index page is changed to be your index page not the index page that was on when you first got your account...

There are about 50 of 'em. I still dont know what the database name is, would it be USERNAME_trap17 (so really it would be dayzed_trap17?) How do you change the index page?

Go to, Cpanel click on file manager, click on the folder next to "public_http", click on index.html then click edit on the right. A window will open with the code to the index page. Make sure that the files you uploaded are in the public_http folder or you won't be able to access them. You need to make a database before you can access it. To make a database go to cpanel, click on MySQL Databases, type whatever you want to call the database in the textbox and click "Create MySQL database". Then create a new user to access the database. Click on "go back", scroll down to where it says "Existing MySQL Users", type a name for the new user there and a password. Click "Create MySQL user". Now allow the user to change the database. Click "go back", scroll to where it says " Grant permissions on a MySQL database to a MySQL user" and choose the user you made and the database you made. make sure "ALL" is clicked under privileges then click "Grant Permissions". The database name is then the "YOURUSERNAME_YOURDATABASENAME" and then your username is "YOURCPANELUSERNAME_YOURDATABASEUSERNAME"

public_html is the one you should look in Answer me this...what is the name of the first webpage people will see when they go to yoursite? If it's not index.htm, index.html, or index.php, then rename it to any one of those three, and delete the existing index.html in your public_html folder in your cpanel.

Thanks to everyone who helped! I got someone to rewrite some of my scipts, so pretty much all of them are rewritten. The thing is I forgot my password to my cpanel, since its suddenly gone from my hard drive, so I cant try it. Argoth, Mike, I'm sorry, but I cannot make both of you admins, I'm really sorry. Would any of you like to not take the position and give it to the other? As I said I'm sorry, but I dont want to have three admins and no members. If one is an admin maybe I can make one a mod....

1. Create new database for the boards. I understand that. 2. Then I use the SQL in the SQL file to create the table for the boards. Thats in the SQL.SQL file correct? 3. Then I go into the config.inc.php and edit the database connection variables to yours. I did do that-- I think. Thats what Argoth was helping me with...

Once you upload the files, you have to create a new database for the boards. Then you use the SQL in the SQL file to create all the tables needed for the boards. Then you go into the config.inc.php and edit the database connection variables to the yours. It should look like this: CODE

How Do I Find My Mysql Password? [resolved]
Cannot access my MySQL (5) After all the recent problems, my account has been restored. I have setup my parked domain agin, and
that works fine. However, I can no longer access my MySQL databases (I can from PHPMyAdmin, but
that's all). I had to create a new user for my databases, and created the user with exactly the
same username and password I had before, but some of my web pages do not let me access the pages I
have associated with my databases. Where could i find out what my DB password is? (Although I am as
good as sure I am using the right one). I have tried my old password, the new c....
Remote Access Mysql
(8) Is it possible to directly access my local database from my website? For example, if somebody
submits info on my website, the info they submitted would be transferred to my local database
directly. Is that possible? And if so, how do I set that up? The reason I don't want to upload
my database to my subdomain is because it would be difficult to keep the website database and my

Just this week they started (4) The forum has been up and running for about a year and a half. It has been through numerous server

Database Connection Problem
phpBB2 installation error (5) *edit* Ok well the original problem has been solved. I have installed phpBB2 on my new how here.
Transfered all of the database files over. On my new forums all of the old posts and everything
shows up right. The problem is when I click the "Go to administration panel" at the bottom it links
me to log into my ACP on my old forums. It changes the url and all. If I hover over the link it
says that it will be directed to the right way, the way I want, but it doesn't. Does anyone
know anyway to fix this?....
99 Mysql Databases?
(2) I just got my account, and I was wondering: do we really get 99 MySql databases? I've read a
lot of the stuff about it, and it sounded like we only get one database, but my cPanel says that I
have "0 / 99" databases. If it's lying, it's not really a problem, because I could always
just prefix my tables, but I was just wondering why it would say that. If for some reason it was
letting me get more than one database, and I wasn't supposed to, I don't want to get my

(3) hi all - i'm going to make this brief. my CMS (drupal 5.0) and forum (SMF 1.1.1) cannot connect
to the mysql db. however their files CAN still be accessed. I also tried uploading a file through an
ftp client and the file could be accessed. HOWEVER: cpanel cannot be accessed either. it simply
