allright, lets get warmed up... i agree that the US is getting wayy too obsessed with religion

i mean, i do believe in god, but i do not believe that he runs peoples lives...and if the people that let what is "supposably his word" controll their lifes, i really concider them straight up idiots. because how in the hell are we supposed to know that the bible is the word of god...it might have been around for ages, but how do we know it is just not the word of the pope or whoever in the hell writes it wanting to controlll the way people think, the way that people act..

as for the the people who think there is no god, they are straight up crazy too... as for the people who want Under good, and in god we trust off of things....i think they can go to hell...the US should not suppress to such a level that the word of one athiast should change what we have gone by for a while in terms of that kind of stuff. even a group of athiast's....

well i could go on forever but the point is, yes i do beliee that people are WAYYY too obsessed with religion and that they should be more concerned about mankind and not where they are going to go when they die. lol and for religion being taught in shcool, i agree that it shouldn't if people want to learn about it go to church

The list goes on. I really hope you'd donate. Along with many others, if they truly-truly want to help mankind. I really hope it's not just all talk.

We follow religion because it is an explination to what we do not know! It shows us how life was created and so we devote ourselfs to it. Nothing is wrong with it unless you kill for religion which is a big thing now with Darfur and the middle east. Just my .02

I just dont get this. What is evil? Cheating on your wife is evil and so is divorce. It can't be though becuse OVER 50% of people do it. Oh yah and dont forget working on Sunday is also. No one seems to care about those things anymore though.

Evil is the absence of good. Divorce isn't evil, it was made for people, because some partners can be abusive, unforutnately. Working on the Sabbath isn't evil either. The Sabbath was made for man, not man for the Sabbath. Meaning, it's there if you want it.

The better question isn't why people are obsessed with religion, but why certain people twist religion to their own agendas? The fact of the matter is that while you may not see it yourself, religion is a very real thing to its devoted practitioners. Don't be so openminded as to let your brain fall out. You are moving to the opposite extreme. Saying people who believe in religion are narrow-minded and you are the opposite. Move to the middle, understand that some accept religion and some don't. No need to go against either just let each have their own beliefs. Another thing is that religion is belief in a higher order, there are thousands of 'religions' that claim to be the way to 'Heaven', to be truly rational would require you to look into each one to undeniably claim that each one is wrong before you can say that religion is bad. Because that is claiming that all religions are bad/wrong without having looked at all religions to see if that is true.
