Google has some problems mainly on privacy but I still like google's stuff. I've never seen this Google Earth however I've heard about it but MSN Virtual Earth? Hehehe... never... I know it's in beta yet... but I'm happy that google has some good ideas (not the owner of the idea) and it's making a challenge...
Stupid Stupid Microsoft...
If you ask me, they just dont want to admit that they are falling behind in the latest technologies. Google Maps is still much better than this MSN thing. The only thing google should do is expand to other contries with google maps. Google's image quality is still much better than MSN's from what i can see, and while google's a bit hit or miss on finding the right adresses, MSN apears to be doing the same. It put my adress on a totally different street like what happens some times on google. Few weeks age i downloaded google earth. Wow. This program is great. I only have an ATI Radeon 7000 and it still runs relativly good. The only problem is that i live in a little village in Canada where high speed is like dial-up, so its a bit slow, and also my "village" is in one of the really low quality areas, so i can hardly find my street! What Google should do now for google earth is get High-Quality shots for more cities and different areas of the world. exactly a direct competitor for google earth but certainly a long way to go, I tried google earth too and boy I was surprised to actually see my very tiny hometown, thats a great thing to have now.
Google earth is way better then Microsofts virtual earth.
The image qualty is way better but then they are 1 or 2 year olders. I hope they will expand their veture in other countries like US. It will ve very very useful in many ways. By the way, it is been out there for while....Google earch and then after Microsoft Virtual Earth. Keep it Coming.
another globe huh?....microsoft is a big coppier....he did nothing origianal....sorry no offence to others...but ill stick with the google earth....hehehe
I prefer Google Maps over MSN Virtual Earth by far. I think it's really funny that Microsoft wiped Google off the map in MSN Virtual Earth. Microsoft "claims" that it is an outdated satellite photo, but the immediate area surrounding Google's headquarters has perfectly clear satellite coverage. Funny isn't it?
QUOTE For me there is nothing wrong if Microsoft is copying or imitating Google's "Google Earth" or "Google Map." Sometimes a company needs a direct competitor so they would make their service or product better, if not best I agree, i mean without competitors they wouldn't be any good quality services or no services at all, remember gmail? it was the first company to offer 1 gb email so it forced Yahoo! and MSN to upgrade (well MSN has the upgrade but you actually have to pay! and what i don't like it's thatr only USA or SPAIN users can have access to the 250 mb things for free! while the latin countries? we're still stuck with 2mb ¬¬U) so i've had a look to this Virtual Earth thing on MSN and i kind of like it! i mean i dont have to download anything, (well at least not yet) but well i prefer the google maps, because they're in pics u know.. let's just wait and see what is Yahoo! planning to do about this >=D
QUOTE For me there is nothing wrong if Microsoft is copying or imitating Google's "Google Earth" or "Google Map." Sometimes a company needs a direct competitor so they would make their service or product better, if not best I was going to say "Stupid Microsoft, now they are losing the competition they copy Google", but you changed my mind, what you said is pretty reasonable. But you can't deny that Google's maps/earth are way better than MSN earth, especially satellite images from countries other than US.
