| | All the buzz about mp3 players, iPods...manufacturers have started to sell mp4 players (claims to play video and audio).
All the mp4 players out there...i think they're only 3 big name ones now, all running Windows media software, kinda bricky, and have relatively short battery lives, w/ hard to get used to interfaces...w/ a coolness factor of about million. All rumor sites all think that apple, whatever steve jobs says, is going to get one out soon.
Has anyone actually purchased one? if so, are they small and futuristic? |

Oh yeah, my friend has an MP4 player, and he claims that it can play videos and music. I don't know what they look like, but I'll try to get a peak Monday and post the results here.

RealAudio, MP3, Liquid Audio, and many other technologies allow this compression. To compress audio to a point where it can be streamed over modems, you have to start squeezing the sound quality out of it. But on one hand, MP3 files can't be streamed -- we have to download them (about 15-20 minutes for a 5 minute song) before listening -- but they sound good; and on the other, RealAudio files can be streamed, but they sound like AM radio, not like a CD.

I haven't purchased one, but from the press conferences I've been to, these things are pretty sweet. The creative one is extremely nice, and is about the size of a Gameboy DS. My favourite though is the iRiver H320 mp3 player. It's cheaper than the iPod if you search around and it's MUCH cheaper than the portable media center devices that were originally designed with video in mind. With a firmware hack, you can watch videos on it's color screen

Using Mp3 Players With Itunes?
(0) I recently purchased an ipod nano and I have to say that it is an awesome upgrade from the one gig
mp3 player that I used to have! I am very happy with the whole iTunes set up and its funny but
that and the safari download that came with it, has convinced me to buy a mac book which is on its
way as I type! Anyway, I got my ipod and suddenly my little brother and sister, and parents
were hogging it so they all ended up purchasing a cheaper conventional mp3 players (sansa 140 or
something like that) the problem was that the mp3 players were only compatible with....

Do you still like it or not? (12) I play neopets! My username is shigger711. I don't like neopets much anymore... they're
taken all the good stuff down! I hate the new neopets. It was so simple when we had the old
neopets back. for example, the layout. It's horrible. The old layout was just a sidebar, and I
miss that. Now the layout is a flashy CSS thing! And every 2 days or so they release a stupid

Obsessed Mmorpg Players
(10) Seriously there annoying, they don't shut up about their game. MMORPGs (Such as World of
Warcraft) are good but it doesn't mean they have to blag (discuss repeatedly) about it to people
who arn't interested in it. One of my friends at college is obsessed with WoW (World of

General Ultima Online discussion (5) Even though the game is quite dilapidated, I can never seem to tear free from it's hold.
I've been playing Ultima Online for about 7 years now and it never gets tiring. Sure, certain
