I'm being dragged into the 21st century, by my need of carrying more music around.. currently I have a mini disc, it's cool and all, but I'm limited with the amount of musik I can carry around. So, my birthday is coming up.. and I'm planning on getting a mp3 player. I just need to figure out which one.. so far I think either Creative Zen or iPod.. The iPod mini looks really cool, but 4 gigs isn't enough for me.. ( I have a lot of music) so I'm thinking about iPod 20's, is the battery still as bad as people used to complain about? Are they better than Creative Zen's? Any idea's on either would be good. Trying to find good unbiased information is hard.. >_> since.. Creative and Apple seem to have large number of fans. Yes, the creative holds more different types of formats and is a radio.. but.. I can live with out these, as the majority of radio isn't actually any good in ireland.

i would go with the iPod 20's because you have lots of music and I think ipod's are more reliable.. I would check the battery life for Creative Zen & Ipod on their respective sites and see how each compares.

i myself would not get a mp3 player with so huge drive .. the reason is that i dont use up that much .. even my 512 mb is much more that enough for me .. yes .. i do have a lot of music files on my computer .. but i do not transfer all of them to my mp3 player ... you wouldnt have to time to listen to every one of them ... and the second reason is that it's hard to find a specific song in that large amount of files .. so i only transfer those songs that i like the most at that moment ...

If you have a lot of music, and plan on getting more for the future, a 40 GB one would be a really good idea. I bought a Creative and I like it a lot. Mine is a 30gb model. I got it on sale for 190$, so it was a deal. Creative's players have a better sound quality than the iPod's and most anything else for the matter. The only reason that I don't like the iPod's is that they don't support WMA media format. I really don't want to change all of my files and lose some sound quality in the process, so the iPod wasn't worth it for me. But if you have yours in a format that the iPod's accept I suggest finding a person or a store where you can try both of them out to see which one you like better.

Why do so many people have WMA's, I personally, think Wma's are of lower sound quality than mp3, anyway, I am getting an iPod. I do have quite a lot of music, though, I also think, I more than able to sort out a quick play list of albums to take with me places.. I will probably buy this mythical 4th generation iPod when it is released, people are saying it will play games;.. be a phone.. be wireless.. some guy tried to say it flies in the air.. these all seem rather bizare.. >_>; Also, I like the iPod mini's size.. >_>

I have a Sony NW-E99 and it's great. It's small and holds up to 1GB of music. The great thing about this is that it uses AAA batteries, so it's easy to change the batteries, instead of going to have them changed by 'a specialist'. I've had it for about a year and went skiing with it in Austria, hasn't failed me once!

Well It Really Depends On How Much Money Your Getting, If You Getting A Little Bit Of Money I Reccomend You Get Something With 25MB-1GB, Those Are Really Cheap Now, But If You Get Alot Of Money You Should Get A 3-6GB Ipod, Or Get The Zen Micro (US$179.99) "Creative Muvo" Its Pretty Cheap Comes With A Gig(US$100.00). So You Have Alot Of Options With MP3 Players, And I Hope You Pick The Right One. Thanks, Ilimanation

I would go with the 20 GiG ipod. I've had it for about a year now and no problems I filled it with 5000 songs the first 2 days I got it. And all the accesories and warranties on the item are great. I don't know alot about the zen but it seems like just any other MP3 the iPod sticks out for a reason. besides, so many people are getting it now the price is going to go down. so I would go with the ipod all the way!

Apple Ipod is so expensive. and you won't need all those amount fo drive. i suggest looking and buying for a more afforable MP3 Players. something that has 512Mb drive is enough for me, I would buy an Apple Ipod Shuffle if I were you.

I have the Ipod Shuffle myself. I think that it is really great. I get 12 hours of battery life and I can charge it alsmost anywhere. I have the 512mb version though becasue my funds are limited. I found maybe a couple downfalls with the Ipod shuffle. The fact that there is no screen on it it the big thing for me but I usually know what song I am listening to as soon as it starts. Also the only other thing that I do not like is that they make it so hard to view the contents of your ipod. I still have not found out how to do it yet but I know that it can be done. Dependign on how much money you have though I think should be the judge in what you buy. You can not go wrong in eaither brand in my opinion. Both are a solid group although I think that apple is just a little better. Also I think that it can hold more song formats. Bur goodluck in whatever you choose.

I personally have a creative zen touch, and I'd say I am satisfied. The sound quality is superb (but try to get better headphones), battery life is at least twice that of the usual mp3 players (20 hours AT LEAST!), and has nice features. Just one thing is to get used to the scroll feature, but at least it is better than going through your songs one by one huh?

This morning I was going to listen to some music, so I got my iPod, turned it on, and it reset (I
hadn't had it plugged in for a while). When I got to the music, it would go through half of a
song, then skip to the next. After doing this a couple times, it would just skip entire songs.
It'd skip six or seven, then do half of one, then skip six or seven more. Later I looked on the
internet for some ideas, so eventually I tried resetting it again, as instructed. This worked for a
little bit, but then it started skipping over songs again. I reset again, and it lost...
