Instead, A friendly neighborhood wall-crawler, a green ogre and two warring factions of alien robots destroyed the competition. Spider-Man 3, Shrek the Third and Transformers won the movie race with record breaking numbers. And other franchises, like the Jason Bourne series, enjoyed a record-setting business as the top-grossing secret agent oven James Bond, Austin Powers and Ethan Hunt of Mission: Impossible.
