i think making a movie about a video game is weird. if the mess up they will lose alot of fans i hope they dont bomb and that it will be a good movie, but that unlikely

Ooh, a topic I like.

Here's the deal w/ Halo fanatics. Most people are cool w/ the game, beating it only takes a few hours, and w/ two people even less. The real die hards are all about the multi player action. You can have two teams, up to 16 people, and you can play it from all over the world now! For an idea of what it's like, google halo movies. You'll get a lot of personal blog sites that people have edited game play from(PC version I guess). It's way better then the actual game play, w/ a lot more options and maps.

The word on the movie is that they will either make one really long movie, or most likely a trilogy, if they can keep making money on them. The intro, or first part will be based on the Spartan army. These are the cyborg characters that you play as. As I understand it, there once was a whole army of them. They really want to get that story out there and tell what happened to that army. Then they would move onto the stories behind the Covenant, and the battles between the those species and the humans. There really is a plot behind the games. There are books too, but I haven't read them. I got the info from my bud who has read them and is an even bigger fanantic then I.

IMO, movies based on games are usually pretty bad. Ex. Tomb Raider, Doom, Mortal Kombat... the list goes on and on. These usually have a plot so diluted and flawed that they completely take away from the movie. Usually the game is at least twice as good as the movie, even if it is Mortal Kombat. I hope Halo flops and they never try to make another movie based on a first person shooter again...wishful thinking...

Now StarCraft, StarCraft might make for a good movie. It actually has a pretty good storyline, coupled with a lot of great opportunities for battles, special effects, etc...

Btw, is the Doom movie really bad?

i just can not believe bungie... they are totally selling out. the only reason that they are doing the movie is to make money... id watch the movie but personally... i think its going to suck and be really stupid... but i dont know... oh... and some more proof that they are selling out... bungie is sticking halo content into dead or alive 4... such as the female master cheif or w/e... and some arena settings from halo... this just aggravates me... dead or alive happens to be the best fighter game in my opinion but... techmo is just ruining it... first by suing ninjahacker and now this... sorry for getting off topic a little bit but im just trying to show how bungie is now selling out and i dont like it... dont get me wrong though.. i LOVE halo stuff... im constantly on halo 2 online so... bungie=sellout... bungie products=good...

now heres my question. Has there ever been a successfull movie made from a game? the truth is that there arnt many. in my opinion... halo will probly end up like resident evil or final fantasy.

i would love to see the halo movie when it comes or if it comes. i think it would pretty sweet seeing that they keep all the coolness from the games. i also think they should someone good to paly the role of master cheif. if not they could make the whole movie CG but i think that would kinda suck.

I've never actually played Halo (shock-horror!) but everybody says that it is really good, so I would go and watch it.
