| | I got a $50 compUSA gift card, and got myself this really good mouse. It's really comfortable (and about 1/3 bigger than my cheap HP optical mouse), has a 4-way scroll wheel thingy, side buttons, and a decent optical sensor. It cost me $29.99 AFTER REBATES (one of which is on it's way, have yet to do the other one since it's due in April). In general, I think that Microsoft hardware, unlike their $oftware products, is a job well done. |

I agree with the fact that microsoft makes very good hardware. Part of the reason is that their drivers never stop working and are normally built into the operating system. However, i disagree with the software comment. The reason Microsoft software is "unsecure" and such is because it is what everyone uses so those who want to be destructive target their stuff and to be honest, no matter how good a programmer you are, it is almost impossible to create anything that is 100% secure.

You didn't pay for quality, you paid for a name, the microsoft name. Thae same goes for clothing brands. Shirt with no label - $5 shirt with label - $25. Companies sell their goods through their names. I'm currently using an acrox optical mouse which was dirt cheap and was probably made in China along with the rest of their electronic goods.

I fully agree with you. When buying branded products, chances are that you are going to pay for the brand name and its establishment rather than the quality of the product. For example, an Apple IPod can cost up to 200+ but another brand of a MP3 player, it may cost less than 150. The same concept can be applied to fashion accessories, why go for branded goods like Mango, Billabong ... etc when you can get similar goods which are better? But of course the issue with getting brandless items is knowing how to see them and differentiating between the good and bad quality ones. On the issue of this Microsoft Wireless Optical Mouse 5000, I have not heard of it. But my experience with a wireless mouse is not a good one. I had a free Sony USB wireless mouse when I got my Sony Vaio laptop about slightly more than a year ago. At times it had problems trying to identify the wireless mouse and as a result, the mouse was deemed useless on more than a couple of occasions. With regards to Microsoft hardware, as of now, I have only seen a microsoft keyboard, I don't find it is better than other keyboards with no brands, reinforcing the fact that a brand name != the best

it's interface is inside of Powerpoint. This means I must use Powerpoint in order to generate

New Technology (10) QUOTE Overview: Surface is essentially a Windows Vista PC tucked inside a table, topped
with a 30-inch reflective surface in a clear acrylic frame. Prices will reportedly be $5,000 to
$10,000 per unit. However Microsoft said it expects prices to drop enough to make consumer
versions feasible in 3 to 5 years. Surface is a 30-inch (76 cm) display in a table-like form

tabletop is acrylic, and its interior frame is powder-coated steel. The software platform r....
Wireless Router Problems.

Linksys Wireless Pci Card
(3) I have an old desktop at home that is used as a second PC (a sort of backup), for example if someone
is using the newer PC, or its running a virus scan or something. Anyway, this desktop was connected
into my network's router by about 30 feet of Cat5 cable, which was then hooked into the PC with
the use of an ethernet-to-USB converter (it has no ethernet port). We decided to move this desktop
elsewhere, which meant the cable would no longer be of use to connect it with. Despite the age of
the PC (around 7 or 8 years old) I decided to make wireless, so that no matter....

Microsoft Says Gmail Is A Virus
(65) QUOTE It seems that Microsoft has started flagging Gmail as a virus in their virus scanning
software Windows Live OneCare. Many people are reporting that every time they open Gmail, a warning
is displayed telling the user they are infected with "BAT/BWG.A". Now, either Gmail is a virus, or
Microsoft is generating false positives. Some affected by this "virus" say other anti-virus products
do not pick up the infection — to me, this is a bit suspicious. So who should be responsible for
fixing the problem? Either Google can wait for Microsoft to update their virus def....

Could Not Connect To 2wire, Wireless
With a HP ze4400 (5) Hi every one. This is a brief story of something that happened to me a couple days ago. I have a
ze4400 laptop, and a 2Wire router, wich can be accessed by USB, ethernet and wireless connections. I
first connected my lap to the router usin ethernet and configured everything to work like that, I
found the router registered my lap's name. I did so, because I couldn't get my lap to detect
the router wireless signal. So I did this: 1-Downloaded the newest driver. Didn't solve it 2-
Downloaded a tool to manage the wireless connectio. Finally my lap detected the r....
Yet Another Anti-microsoft Article

Microsoft Publisher

knowing absolutely anything about HTML, it also allows you to do other publishing tasks like making
