Hello friends! This topic is so important because most of computer problems can be prevented (assuming one problem leads to another) we know early the small problem it gets. like a child our computer communicates with us throug beep sounds(also called as ERROR CODES IN A PC).
Let us look at it one by one
QUOTE
One Beep Quote DRAM refresh failure This may be due to - Bad memory chips - A bad DMA Chip - Bad memory addressing chips on the motherboard
Two Beeps Quote Parity error or Parity Circuit failure Your memory may not be seated properly on the mother board. Unplug and plug it properly
Three Beeps
QuoteBad memory or bad mother board
Four beeps
QuoteTimer failure in the RAM.
Five Beeps
QuoteCPU chip may be dead
Six Beeps
QuoteKeyboard controller may have failed
Seven beeps
QuoteCPU is dead. Retry the connections and test. Replace the whole motherboard.
Eight Beeps
QuoteVideo card is missing or Bad.
Nine Beeps
Quoteamaged ROM BIOS. BIOS chip has to be replaced if it persists.
Ten Beeps
QuoteCMOS shutdown. Replace CMOS memory and associated chips.
Eleven Beeps Quote Cache memory test has failed. To enable cache memory try CTRL+ALT+SHIFT++.
One long Beep and Three short Beeps
QuoteMemory failure
One long Beep and Eight short Beeps QuoteVideo card failure. Try to install video card in another slot.
No Beeps QuoteCheck Power supply Check mother board connections Remove all cards except video card and check for system power up Insert all cards one at a time and check their operation. If system hangs on the installation of a particular card, then it is the cause for the problem and replace it with another of that type and check
Have a nice day!

Strange it says 3 beeps is a memory failure or motherboard failure. One of my pcs beeps 3 times everytime it starts up, but memory works fine, everything works fine. weird.
Same here, mine beeps once all the time and never has had a problem starting up. Also, do you know what brand of BIOS (I think that's what affects it, anyways) you're doing this from? Also, If it is in fact, irrelevant, then I would like to add that one long beep means
QUOTE
Hard drive error, detected, but un-accessable.
that is important for fixing locked xbox hard drives, it means that your BIOS cannot unlock it (no bios, except the xbox's can).

I had gotten my latest issue of playstation magazine and happen to stumble across an interesting
article about the worlds fastest computer and I have ot say that computer is fast. This computer
can do a petaflop or to break it down in simpler terms it can do over a quadrillion calculations per
second. Here is the kicker, hardware from the Playstation 3 system made this possible; includes
6,949 dual core AMD Opteron chips and 12,960 cell engines (heart of the PS3). As for cost I would
say including $400 for a PS3 that this computer cost at least or over $10 million dol....
Hey everyone! I'm going to be buying a new laptop in a few months, and I am very confused about
one thing: AMD manufactures a LOT of 64 bit processors, while Intel almost never does. I'm
clueless when it comes to processors, and I'm concerned because I haven't really been paying
attention to processor specs as much as HD and RAM, even though those are the cheapest and easiest
to switch. Does anyone have any good tips about processors? I'm mainly wondering what the
difference between 64 bit and 32 bit is, but other than that I also want to know if so....
There is a contest right now for this computer, and I have to say that this beats the $20,000+ Mac

I have looked at the new microsoft computer called microsoft surface, it looks amazing but slightly
too expensive for me at the moment at £17000 onwards. Also I have heard from my mate that there is
a new apple computer which is coming out shortly. It has 2*quad core x2.4Ghz processors and 40 gb
of ram. I think thats crazy but £17000 may be worth it.....

Hello Trap17 Friends, I am posting this because I need help to get a computer screw unscrewed, the
problem is that I sort of forced it a while back and it is sort of deformed. I am able to get all
the other screws out except this particular screw. I need to get it out so that I can check the
thermal paste on my processor and to clean the heatsink. I might even swap out the processor soon,
so before I buy a new processor for it, I need to be able to get that screw unscrewed. Does anyone
here have any tricks or ideas? Thanks.. /smile.gif" style="vertical-align:middle"....
Okay, this is the second time building a computer on my own. The motherboard had a 24-pin socket but
I didn't notice that the power supply had a 20-pin connector with an extra 4-pin to go with the
20-pin one. So what I did without knowing the proper connection, I connected the 20-pin to the
240pin socket on the motherboard and the extra 4-pin to the 4-pin socket across from the
motherboard. The correct 4-pin was left hanging and wasn't used. So after all these things were
done and I connected the power cable to the PSU and switched it on, I heard some popping so....
I am getting a new monitor and I plan to use it for gaming, WoW, BF2 etc. And I was just wondering,
for being on a budget if the monitor is fine, I've read about ghosting and dead pixels and such
and was just kind of worried about getting the wrong one.

Well I got two weeks left in the semester and on August 18th I will have built my first computer
from scratch, now hopefully during the rest of the year I will have build up a series of topics on
computer hardware and tutorials on building a computer from scratch that most of you will never have
to buy a pre built system again /biggrin.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":D" border="0"
alt="biggrin.gif" />. With that being said this is the final specs of the computer I will be
building, after I had a fluke with my floppy drive (had the wrong one). Keyboard &....
As I began my hardware class in school I knew I was going to be learning some new stuff about a
computer that I never really thought about besides the fact I use one. Hopefully what I talk about
in this topic will help people get a better understanding of computer hardware, especially when
might want to build one by scratch. The form factor is used to determine what power supply,
computer cases and motherboards you can use when building a fully customized computer instead of
getting one pre-built; such as Dell, Apple, Sony, and Alienware. There are 6 form factors (in....

Got a question, Again. I want to be able to have to monitors, Two keyboards, And two mouses. So
that they can be all hooked up to one computer but I can have several users doing different things.
But so that I can connect to the internet on the computer and all the users be able to share it at
the same time. I have Dial-up. So the question is, If I get another monitor card so I can hook up
two monitors will that work? Then there is this thing that you plug it into your computer, and it

Hey all. The outlets in my room are not grounded, and I want to eventually get a computer up and

we talking computer-dying dangerous, electrocuting myself dangerous, or some other kind of
dangerous? Thanks, folks.....
I'm thinking about building a new computer to integrate into my car. I would use it for audio,
games, etc... Has anybody ever done this? I know that percautions have to be made for vibrations,
and you would have to use a very small lcd screen. Does anybody know how to do this?....
Hi, A friend of me call me telling me that his computer is *BLEEP*ed up. His computer turns off
before anything comes into the screens. Three beeps sound before it turns off. He asked me for
advice but i did not know what to tell him. I guess could be the Bios but i do not have a big
background experience with this computer problems. He told me he was cracking a program or something
like that. So, maybe a virus *BLEEP*ed him. If anyone know what is the problem and what it is the
solution would be really nice. thanks in advanced!....
I have a problem with my computer. How come it's restarting on its own? When the electricity
fluctuates, the computer restarts. I cannot control that though and that is tolerable given the
quality of electric lines here in my country. But sometimes there are no electric fluctations and
it is just restarting on its own. Is this spyware, trojan or virus? I scan my system regularly
using Adaware and AntiVir. I am not that good in troubleshooting computers, so can anyone help me?

many ppl deicde that they would like to build a comp with all the leet mods and cold cathode lights
and coloured fans but wats the point its not asif ppl are going to stare at the case for fun and the
money can be spent elsewhere such as a new graphics card. the computer case is just used to hold all
the parts together and is put next to your feet so ppl shouldnt bother to spend hundreds of dollars
on doing up their comp....
