I agree that some paid-to-read, paid-to-surf sites don't really pay; but there are legitimate ones that do pay though. I myself have not been a big successor through these programs, but I have receive a few dollars through them. The problem that I have with most of them is the ties directed back to big-time advertisers. I mean, some, maybe most paid-to-read programs are stable due to search mails; and many rich advertisers use search engines to advertise their services/products. The same things apply to pay-to-promote programs, which many people use traffic exchanges to promote them. But oh well, I guess they big-time advertisers have money to spare.

Making money online by clicking/reading/signing up ant etc. is nonsense... The only way to make money is to make them by yourself like creating webpages, scripts, programs, graphics, templates and so on. For example if you are good at html, css and photoshop you can make a professional website template and sell it to website which sells templates... They will pay you real money (not "money-on-text") if your skills are good enough and if they accept your work. This is the way and it's the only way to make money on the internet without investing at all. You just have to have some skills...

And i'll try to work in rentacoder.com... I think i'll post my opinion about it sometime later...

The best ways to make money is probably to work for it, like having a webdesign studio as you said. But there are also other ways like www.rentacoder.com which has been suggested before, you can take small jobs there for not too big fee's. Also Google Adsense pays a bit, but you might want to study some sources about it. You wont get payed much unless you have a very busy site (like trap17?)

Here's the bottom line:
All of these companies (as stated in the terms of service) have the right to delete your account and refuse to pay you your earnings if they suspect that you spammed, used click bots or simply "cheated". (Spedia Style) So, overall reliability is equal to ZERO! You are not sure if you will ever receive your payment or not. Some companies simply pack up and leave!

As for me, I'm up to 160$ on RentACoder.com and I'm enjoying my membership so far! I love coding, but this is a whole new experience for me. Coding for others is not very simple, but I can get the job done! I know that my work is appreciated and that I'm going to get paid for it!

i was looking around rentacoder.com and it looks like a good site, i would sign up however all i can code are basic layouts and i'm quite slow at doing that, but it does seem like a good reliable way of making money
