Make Money By Programming Or Web Design? - How? Your NORMAL suggestions here

Alright... First of all, I would like to spread my disgust about some of the topics on this part of the forum. "Make money online" doesn't mean that you can make money online by just <- snipped -> reading e-mails or auto-surfing. Allot of people that hang out on this part of the forum think that the Internet is a huge bag of money and is belching out a large amount of it to everybody that passes by!
Nobody gives away money just like that! Bill Gates is very rich, but do you see him walking down town throwing a handful of dollars every second into the air? NO!
So, if you see the "get an iPod for free" or "free LCD TV" ad, just FORGET IT! Nobody wants to give you something for free just like that! (although you may have to buy something or do a survey in order to get into a some sort of a lottery, but the odds are probably against you, on the other hand, if you feel lucky, go right ahead).

The “pay me 10$ and I will show you how to make one million dollars” books are a bunch of crap! Why would someone request such a small sum of money when he/she can become a millionaire instantly? Avoid these books on sight!

Online casinos? Get real...

Pay to click/read email/auto surf?
The companies that pay you to read e-mails, click on links, or auto surf aren't dumb as they appear on first sight! They will always insert a line in the license agreement that will give them the right to terminate your account "when they feel like it", or, even if they don't do such a thing, they know that you will get tired very quickly of grabbing a few pennies a day when you need at least 20$ to receive the promised amount of money! (most of them accept applications only from the USA)When you quit, they reset your account in a matter of a month of inactivity and there you have it - you have just given away your earnings and they got their >100 clicks for free!

100 clicks * 10^n users = $$$ (*cash register sound*)

Here's a good example: I signed up at SendMoreInfo.com in order to "get some cash" about 6 months ago... I received some e-mails, I clicked on the referral links, and so far, I have earned something... how much? Hmmm... let me check:

Earned From Personal $ 0.02
Earned From Referrals $ 0.00
-----------------------------------
Accumulated Earnings $ 0.02

TWO CENTS??? Oh goody! Now I can retire! I will probably earn enough cash to receive my 10$ in about 10 years! dry.gif

*takes deep breath* OK... That probably belongs in the Vent, but no matter... Back On Topic in 3..2..1:

Here's my suggestion:

I took a peek at www.rentacoder.com and I am pretty satisfied with this site! A buyer posts a request for a program, all of his additional requests, an optional file attachment, a deadline date and the maximum amount of money that he is willing to pay out if the job is completed.

Coders place bids and create the program/script/whatever until the deadline date is reached. Sounds good? It is! I earned 2$ (5$ actually, but minus 3$ because of the taxes) this night for 5 minutes of work! It's a very small amount of money, but I EARNED IT by myself without standing on the same level as all of those dudes out there who still refuse to accept that there is no real money in clicking banners and reading e-mails. (PS: did I mention that the task was done in 5 minutes? smile.gif )

5 minutes - 2$, 10 years - 10$ <---- Compare THAT

www.rentacoder.com also has buyers that are willing to pay up to 500$ for a program! (although it's a big project to do, and it usually includes more programs/scripts etc. - but hey, it's still 500$!) Not only that, but rentacoder.com is doing a great job at protecting the coders and the buyers! There are simply NO/or very little SCAMS out there! There are also small business coding requests (<100$) and medium business coding requests (>100$ but less than 500$).

Unfortunately, here's a down side of this great service:

There are a bunch of coders there that are willing to place a bid. I am afraid of investing my time (a couple of days, weeks, doesn't matter) to develop a program, when my bid can be rejected in a matter of a second from the buyer, and all of my work is ruined! That's the only thing that is bugging me.

But, this is something that all of us just have to accept - no risks, no money.

Alright, that was my suggestion how to make some REAL money by programming or designing.

I would like to hear from others also! Are there other sites like this? We could all use some sites similar to rentacoder.com, but are less crowded, pay more, have a better system etc.

Also, I would like to ask everybody if they ever made some money by accepting donations at their website? For example, you have made an application/script/created a template and somebody clicked on the “PayPal donate” button because they liked it?

And another question: is there an alternative to PayPal that accepts users from east Europe countries (and doesn’t have such a muddy reputation like PayPal)?

eBay has something along these lines, but not just for programmers. It's called "Want It Now" where the buyers advertise what they're looking for. It could be anything from merchandise to custom knitting or web design. As with everything at dBay, it changes constantly, so you need to check it often.

On the Payment thing, have you checked out StormPay? I have an affiliate link, somewhere, if you want to send me a PM. They seem the most like PayPal, but I don't know which countries they support. Their fees are higher than PayPal too--I think. I'm not sure because I get one of the best deals at PayPal from my days as an eBay Power Seller. On just the regular consumer level, the fees might be about the same.

Also, StormPay has a better affiliate program than PayPal and they offer free auctions--no listing fees--no final value fees. I haven't listed anything there, yet, but I think I might try it.

BTW, anybody interested in starting anything online right now should be aware that July and August are the worst months of the year for doing just about anything online with money. eBay is really dead in the summer.}}

i think the best way of earning money online to to get Photoshop then read some tutorials on web design then begin to make web designs and sell them to people, a good web design can sell for $xxxx or more, but even beginner designs can sell for upwards of $5 and can be made in a short period of time, also coding the designs in HTML or PHP will greatly increase their value

Good for you! But,

soredtherose.com domain is for sale smile.gif

beehivemail.com only accepts registration from Australia, Austria, Belgium, Canada, Denmark, Finland, France, Germany, Greece, Iceland, Italy, Netherlands, New Zealand, Norway, Portugal, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, United Kingdom & the United States. You must be over 18.

Here's the bottom line:
All of these companies (as stated in the terms of service) have the right to delete your account and refuse to pay you your earnings if they suspect that you spammed, used click bots or simply "cheated". (Spedia Style) So, overall reliability is equal to ZERO! You are not sure if you will ever receive your payment or not. Some companies simply pack up and leave!

As for me, I'm up to 160$ on RentACoder.com and I'm enjoying my membership so far! I love coding, but this is a whole new experience for me. Coding for others is not very simple, but I can get the job done! I know that my work is appreciated and that I'm going to get paid for it!

The best ways to make money is probably to work for it, like having a webdesign studio as you said. But there are also other ways like www.rentacoder.com which has been suggested before, you can take small jobs there for not too big fee's. Also Google Adsense pays a bit, but you might want to study some sources about it. You wont get payed much unless you have a very busy site (like trap17?)

Making money online by clicking/reading/signing up ant etc. is nonsense... The only way to make money is to make them by yourself like creating webpages, scripts, programs, graphics, templates and so on. For example if you are good at html, css and photoshop you can make a professional website template and sell it to website which sells templates... They will pay you real money (not "money-on-text") if your skills are good enough and if they accept your work. This is the way and it's the only way to make money on the internet without investing at all. You just have to have some skills...

And i'll try to work in rentacoder.com... I think i'll post my opinion about it sometime later...
