i dont see whats so good about an ipod. i have an mp3 player which costs a lot less and has the exact same functions. so i dont know if your a person with a lot of money or not, but i'm definately one with not a lot. the ipod does have its looks though, very nice and does hold more then most mp3 players. so i guess its all depends on your taste and how much music you are planning on uploading to it.

I have a ipod mini I mostly listen to metal on my ipod but do listen to some rock FAv bands on ipod Panters (Metal) Deep Purple (Rock) The Ramones (Punk) the latest song would be erm green day americain - idiot the oldest song would be on eof deep purples dunno which one exactly.

I agree with Miller Time. I don't see that's the big deal about an iPod. I use a Sony CD player that has the capabilities of playing Atrac music, so I can store music files at low bitrates for higher quality. You can store as much as 480 songs on one 700 MB disc. On my CD player, I have about 250 songs, if you wanna know. The best artist, in my opinion, in my CD player is Eminem. Personally, I think the iRiver is better because it's battery life is longer, and it has a colorful interface.

I think that the better point of Ipods are their attractive design because as said... you can listen to music anywhere with another mp3 player, discman or flash memory... and anyway it will be cheaper than an ipod. Fashionable but I´m not sure that has a very good relation price-quality.

since iPod started launch....i got 40G....  yah it's great mp3 player for every in my life....cant compare to other...umm now they loaded with Seagate 6G also hummmm...  and some more i can present the photo through the porjector.....Wowwww i loved it...hey dun waste....grab one now......at least iShuffle.....you wont regret it at alllll... good luck.. p.s. i spoiled it...when i sent back to store...they did change with new one for me...it's kooolllllll.....

I think Ipod is a snobby music player. The only point advantage that i see is that you can store a lot of Gb there. I read 40Gb. Am i right? A mp3 player will contain not more than 1Gb.

heres my view. the ipod classic is the one im getting because my 30GB video ipod broke. 2 weeks after the warranty was up. i wanted the ipod touch but the small capacity is not for me cuz i have 50gb of music alone. so the nano or shuffle wouldnt work either. i want the iphone too, but, even after the price drop, its not a top priority, i might just get a blackjack. so im buying that 160gb ipod classic. and it looks so cool. and i get 10% off cuz of this recycling ipod thing. kinda excited to get it.

Well I've been speculating on what Ipod I should buy, probably was going to stick with the Ipod classic but then chose the Iphone instead. Though some of my friends seem to think the IPhone is a waste of money... >.>

WOW: has anyone seen all the new iPods, they are amazing, especially the iPod touch! Classic: same as the 5.5gen, except upto 160GB, slightly thinner, and not available in white http://www.apple.com/ipodclassic/Nano: shorter, and even thinner (6.5mm ~0.25 inches) but with higher res. screen, which allows movies http://www.apple.com/ipodnano/And the touch: looks amazing, and is basically an iPhone with wifi, but no calls... http://www.apple.com/ipodtouch/(and new colors for the shuffle) And the iPod touch video just makes it look amazing: the only pity is the small size of the hard drive: but it is flash memory as opposed to hard drive, so at least it won't jump, and can use it for jogging etc. I think apple though are a little worried that it might cause a lack of popularity for the iPhone considering the price cut they gave it though...

I know what you mean it's great having a ipod only because i can listen to it on long drives in my car. The absolute best thing is that they are not like cds only because they NEVER scratch!!! i think that's the best part. now i'm investing into getting a bigger gig ipod because i only have the 1st generation nano and there is so many songs i have that they can't fit into the ipod. My nano is just best for running because they are not that heavy as others.

Ipod Not Working, Need Help

got a 4 GB iPod Nano about a month ago. She had about 100 songs on it and one day they just
disappeared. Her normal PC won't recognize that she has the iPod plugged in, and her
stepdad's laptop will recognize it... But after she transfers all the songs, and she unplugs the
iPod from the laptop, she loses all of her songs again... She talked to an apple guy, but they said
she needed to do a system restore on it, but they didn't tell her how... And she can't ....

My Ipod Is Randomly Skipping Songs, Losing Data,
regaining data, and freezing (21) This morning I was going to listen to some music, so I got my iPod, turned it on, and it reset (I
hadn't had it plugged in for a while). When I got to the music, it would go through half of a
song, then skip to the next. After doing this a couple times, it would just skip entire songs.
It'd skip six or seven, then do half of one, then skip six or seven more. Later I looked on the
internet for some ideas, so eventually I tried resetting it again, as instructed. This worked for a
little bit, but then it started skipping over songs again. I reset again, and it lost....

i found a program called xplay. xplay i did the free trial and it kicked butt so i got it. i
have never even opened the software disk that came with my ipod. this is defenetly the route to go
if u use windows and WMP.....
