I just wonder why Edonkey / Emule is not on your list. Kazaa is great for its huge pool of users, but it is also spammed by some stupid people from the record industry. You also have to use Kazaa Lite in order to get rid of all those annoying adware. Napster is not free now, so there is no point in discussing this p2p software of the old days. Actually, many p2p software are bundled with adware, including edonkey. Emule is the only one which is free, open source and clean. It is also very powerful. The only drawback is that it is painfully slow and you may also have problems finding a suitable donkey server. But as far as the number of files share is concerned, I think Emule has few rivals.

I think that Kazaa(Lite Ressurection) is the best cuz I always find what I want on it and the rates are quickest on that. Limewire, I usually find what I want but there re still quite a few things that Kazaa finds that Limewire won't. For Napster, don't even bother metioning it, personally I think that it's quite crap and everythingon it screws up for me. I think it just depends on what you want to download, that determines which one of these is better. For me Kazaa is fastest, then Limewire and finally Napster.

I, personally, prefer to use Shareaza 2, it can use the WinMX and eMule protocols.
Kaazaa is a definite NO! It pulls tons of spyware into your computer, and, if you use it ocassionaly, it is simply NOT worth it!

For those who can't live without Kaazaa, i recommend Kaazaa lite.

I don't think anyone should use any of it! First of all, Kazaa has unremoveable spyware (like lop.com and WWWsearch). Do you want to know what lop.com does? First, it adds unremoveable desktop items and links. Then, it gives you ads on your browser. It is said that ad-adware has trouble removing everything because of the randomness of the file names and extentions. Second, Kazaa has slow downloads and uploads, not to mention the ads taking up all the bandwidth anyways. Why don't you swich to Kazaa lite, someone says... but Kazaa lite is now illegal incase you don't know! Limeware is good, because it's speedy, but it contains secret spyware! (Would a company tell you there's sypware? Obviously not! That's why it's called "spy"ware) Limewere also has a proffessional version. Anything with a professional version means that the program will try to convince you to change to the professional version. There are nag screens and delays! Napster charges money, but at least it doesn't have spyware and you aren't doing illegal things. Shareaza, in my opinion is the best program if you want to use p2p because it uses the edonkey and guellela servers and doesn't give you adware and spyware. (At least as far as I know). But the program doesn't work when you are under or connected in a gateway or router! It means you can't accept incoming connections! I use WinMX because of it's simplicity and easyness to use. It is pretty slow, but safe to use and works with a router! As far as I'm concerned, we shouldn't be using any p2p programs because it is illegal to share music anyways! Even if you own them, you can't make so called "back up" copies because you are still abusing their copyright! That's all I can say about this subject! Hope everyone has a great day! Bye!

I hope you realize that all those sharing programs say they are 100% legal, but are lying. I mean, do you think that the users are NOT going to use it for spreading viruses and sharing copyrighted files?

You're right! And now to download kazaa lite you have to get a paid subscription. Even more ridiculous to make you pay for their illegal program!

This is what my sister uses on this computer. She's tried a few different things but this is the one she's happiest with. And they tell you that they put spyware on your computer. It's kind of annoying but it's not nearly as bad as how many pop-ups there used to be in the olden days.

None. They all give you Spyware and Limewire is just ****.

I use WinMX for my music/file downloads. Free and no Spyware. May not be the most classy or popular, but it works.

I wouldnt recomend any of these, as they are more problems than they are worth. Try SoulSeek instead, its fast, free and has no spyware. But its for music only.
