pop ups are like hell. i hate them a lot especially when i am doing something real serious on the net and a sudden pop up comes popping on my screen, i feel like screaming at it. well popups do pay quite a lot if you put them on your site, but it does make people hate yoru site...

Hi, I do not like Pop us. I think most of the people hate them and i think that using them in a forums site will be a big fail. They will put away a lot of people. I think you took the correct decision admin.

I agree that pop-up *BLEEP*, but if u use mozilla then no prob... it blocks them anyway..but use banners i don't mind

Well these days people are just fed up with pop ups and just the word stirrs up some negative thoughts  Better not use them as they certainly do more damage than they're worth if you ask me

Refresh Main Window By Clicking Link In Popup?
(2) This is another refresh problem question. The project I'm doing uses tons of frames (I know,
some of you will probably advise me not to use frames) and I'm having problems with refreshing
the target frames. The problem is, I have a main page (main.html) that is a popup (so that I
don't see the address bar and the other toolbar bits in my browser) and there are links in that
page that when clicked also pops up a page. What I don't know is how to refresh the main page
using a link in the other popup page. I've tried using this but this only works f....

Tooltip Style Popup Info For File Descriptions

to access a 'members only' area. Is there any way of forcing just the htpassword popup to
use ssl and letting everything else be standard http? ie; user goes to http://mysite.com and
