My computer has pretty much been on since I got it last year (save for vactions, power outages, etc.) but I usually reboot every few days to keep everything running smoothly.

Yea, same here. I only have my computer on when I'm in my room. I have a lot of music on my computer and have a set of pretty good speakers and like to listen to my music while doing work in my room. I usually never leave my computer on overnight as it tends to heat my room up quite considerably. The only time that I will leave it on is when I'm downloading a huge file off of the internet. I am under the assumption that leaving your computer on 24/7 isn't that bad for it, but why leave it on when you are not using it for anything?

Hell no its bad!!!! this uses a massive amount of electricity, the parts in site the motors fans ect may ware down  but the best thing too do is if you plan to leave it on 24/7 remove unused fans to save power reboot computer every hour to let it release built up energy and also remove anything that is not used and also usb remove usbs when on only plug them in when needed, monitor to go on standby every 30 mins, HDD to shut down every 1 hr so on do this asn you computer should last longer and be as right as rain!

i never make my pc 24/7 on because there is trouble in my season. sometime i use AC in my room but there will make my bill growing fast. so i always turn off my pc's at 00.00 a.m till 06.00 a.m for rest only i have make my server on 24/7 always on because it used Linux and for protection my connection.

I have a friend that just told me he didn't power off his PC for over 2 months. He hasn't even restarted it for over a week. I'm sure it kills you electricity bill (and electricy is not cheap at all), but I also heard that powering up and down isn't good at all since the hardware must get thru the shock of powering up. They say that since most of the hardware is based on silicon it's beeing destroyed every time electricity passes thru it... in other words every time when, lets say' the CPU, starts from 0v (when shut down) to 1.4v or more. On the other hand fans do have a very short life span, not to mention the hard-drive and other components... By the way... I'm using torrents a lot and I want to leave my computer on every night. What would be the best power managment option for me (my computer doesn't kill my electtricity bill... the electricity bill kills me and my computer  )

Can't Start Up My Computer
(6) I can't start up my computer. When I switch it on, it just goes to a blank screen, or sometimes,
it will go to the Blue Screen of Death, and the message on it changes every time, so I don't
even know how to solve it. I've gotten the Page Fault In Non Paged Area error a couple of times.
I tried to boot my computer from my Windows XP Service Pack 1 CD, but after running it and repairing
Windows XP, the problem isn't solved. I've also tried to start my computer from safe mode

Computer restarting while playing games (7) I have read in a lot of forums about the importance of this component. And with regards to my
problem of the computer restarting while playing games, this could very well be the reason but I

Strange Thing Happened To My Computer
(26) I was on my computer a couple nights ago. Chatting with some friends and email what have you. And
all of a sudden, It froze. I was like, Oh great. So i shut down the computer using the button. And
