Iraq And Vietnam - Is it right to pull out of Iraq?

thats radical thinking right there, so wheres osama bin hiding.

but to say more on this topic IRAQ has become another vietnam, just without the draft, well not yet.

1. Even the question about Ben LADIN IS not relevant to the question but I don'n know where he as well US intelligance do. That's the deilema. But of sure he is not in IRAQ. My guesing is he in between Pakistan and Afganstan and protected by the people there.

2. If you mean by "draft", the Iraq constitution draft, the answer it is aproved by the National Assemply which not includes Sunni except a few because Sunni bycoted the election. That draft is waiting referendum on 15 October. But according to the March 2004 interim constitution, a "no" vote by a two-thirds majority in any three provinces would defeat the referendum.

3. Sunni Arabs are the majority in four of the 18 provinces but their numbers are overwhelming in only two. US is hoping on that. But demographic figures are unreliable because of the absence of a recent census and large numbers of people are relocated to safer areas within the country or in neighboring countries.

4. Rejection of the draft means st
art again from scratch : elections in December for a new parliament to draft another constitution.

5. Accepting the draft against Sunni will , will increase the resistence and violance.

6. So whetever the ioutcome, the scinario in last posing is still in affect. That is US roops can not pull out in the long year future

the draft im talking about is forcing people to join the military draft, read up on your history.

well we are going to be there for another 4 years so it will be even longer.

to comment on what horus was saying we wouldn't be meddling if people stop killing each other off and holding hostages and blowing up buildings up.

believe me either way you slice everyone is responsible for their actions, we maybe the youngest nation but we are solving the older nations problems for the good or the bad because they don't know how to govern people correctly or know how to run things threw a peaceful way. instead of beheading and murdering innocent people.

Not quite Saint Michael,
it was the US who started the whole Iraq thing, Iraq was a very rich nation (one of the richest in their region), untill the bs begun. Iraq didn't invade Quwait for no reason, a US diplomat showed Saddam radar images of Quwaiti's stealing oil from Iraq territory. The US sold weapons, tanks and missiles to Iraq to attack Iran. (they told him Iran was going to invade Iraq) and the list goes on and on.
To me it seems US politics (not the people) only want war everywhere so they can sell all their weaponry, what use are weapons if there is no fight? wink.gif

I agree with KASM on all points.
Iraq will be divided and I also believe the US will settle more troops (or they command EU forces to do so) so they can invade Iran and/or Saudi Arabia after telling more lies to us. Or even reenact a new 9/11 scene and blame more muslims.
I believe the US government should concern more about it's internal politics before meddling in other peoples business.

Wait, the US reenacted 9/11? Where did you read about that??

you make a logical point, we do have some of the best weapons in the world and whats the only way to pay them off.

but how do you explain all of the ak-47's that are being used, ak-47 are cheap to make, but can easily get bought and sold from other countries that have a vendetta against the US.
