A friend got one of these nanos and personally i think they are too small.....I have big fingers and I myself find the pad hard to operate without hitting the middle button. And it is true, they need to stop making these things so friggin small.. |

pfft.. I got the email apple email  I think it looks kinda cute and I was hoping for a smaller ipod.. I still think it looks too big and I don't really need the color screen and other stuff as I'm probably just going to listen to it not stare at the screen all the time. I MIGHT get this because it's kind of cheap but then again I might not.

well this is simply cool! such a small size...I want to buy one but(I dont know why is this but with me only) it is not released in India yet! Although they are putting it's AD on the Indian version website which is www.apple.co.in Still when I went to store I was not able to find the IPOD NANO over there. also what I think is that in few year to come infact few months to come people will stop buying IPOD'S the reason being these days the way mobile phones are coming up with huge memories and there ability to play the diff. format, I am sure people will prefer to purchase a phone which plays MP3, clicks photos and can be used as a phone as well. For e.g. Nokia is coming up with nokia N series....one of them is having 4 GB space! Ipod nano is a good product but I have an eye over Nokia N-series as well!

i have been seeing more commercials within the last few days. its like less then a centameter thick its so thin that if you turn it on its side you cant see it anymore its amazing.

It looks kinda cool. It's so thin though. I'd be scared I was going to break it! Especially since it looks than other iPods (although, I know it's not...it's just skinnier. Call me old fashioned, but I still prefer my 3G iPod. It's bigger, thicker, it doesn't have a colour screen, but I don't need to view pictures on it, and at least I know I'm not going to break it!

Oblig futurama : "Amy?! Did you swallow your phone again?" Seriously though - miniaturisation is getting a bit too excessive. Why didn't they just update the iPod mini line with bigger harddrives instead of making a smaller version? Personally, i'd rather have a reasonably chunky 6gb iPod than a slim, fragile-lookin 4gb Nano. [ Just my $0.02 ]

I got to check one of these out at the apple store in the mall. They don't feel fragile at all and is easy to operate. It uses flash memory, which offers more shock protection then a hard drive. Though it is on the expensive side considering you can get 16 gb more for 50 more dollars. But other wise it's ok. But no added functionality over the mini besides photo capablilities is quite a drawback.

I've been an iPod user since the second gen. came out. If it weren't for the color screen and photo viewing capabilities, I would still have my 3rd gen., as I prefer its layout the most. At the moment I'm rocking out with a 40gig 4th gen. I, personally, do not see the point behind the mini or the nano. That is, other than something for teenage girls or giggle over. They are far overpriced, and they are just too damned small.

aww the new ipod nano, Well I checked it out on the site and imediatly thought it was too small. I loved the mini's size. I think it's perfect. I've owned a 4th generation 20 gig and a 4th gen 40 gig. Out of those two I prefered the 20 gig. It was more slim and I didn't have more than 5 gigs of music I actually listened to on there. So as a music player I think the 6 gig mini with 18 hours battery life is perfect for me. However when the ipod photo came out, it got alot of people thinking about more multimedia purposes, an ipod video prehaps in the making? Not likely. But I would buy a 60 gig ipod photo if you could view videos on the TV with it through the AV dock. The photo slideshows with music are fun though. But for me who values music from an mp3 player is content with most ipods. back to the subject, It really matters what you value in your mp3 player. If you like the photos, or even the photo slideshows avoid the nano. The pics resolution is less. and there is no AV dock capabilities, (thats a big negative for me). Most of the original adapters wont work on the new Nano, becuase of the new unique headphone jack. But If your like me, the 6 gig mini with 18 hours of battery life is perfect. On the other hand if you like small cute devices, you just want a little bit of everything, the the Nano has it all for you: size, pics, 4 gigs etc. I guess time will tell, we will have to see if Apple comes out with some new features exclusivly for the nano.

I just saw the iPod nano commercials here in Japan, too. Thing is, I already bought an iPod Shuffle a couple of months ago. As much as I'm tempted to purchase one (no matter how small it may be), I'll stick with the Shuffle, as it has a lot of things I like. Since I also don't spend my time looking at the screen, I'm debating whether I really need the nano (other than trying to purchase the latest toy).

the day they came out and a few weeks later the screen was bad so he couldn't see what he was
doing. He still could use it but couldn't see what it was saying on the screen. The person did
take very very good care of it and rarely took it out of its protective case. So has anyone else
purchased one of these? If so have you had good luck with them or do the screens go bad for you?....

Ipod Not Working, Need Help

got a 4 GB iPod Nano about a month ago. She had about 100 songs on it and one day they just
disappeared. Her normal PC won't recognize that she has the iPod plugged in, and her
stepdad's laptop will recognize it... But after she transfers all the songs, and she unplugs the
iPod from the laptop, she loses all of her songs again... She talked to an apple guy, but they said
she needed to do a system restore on it, but they didn't tell her how... And she can't ....

My Ipod Is Randomly Skipping Songs, Losing Data,
regaining data, and freezing (23) This morning I was going to listen to some music, so I got my iPod, turned it on, and it reset (I
hadn't had it plugged in for a while). When I got to the music, it would go through half of a
song, then skip to the next. After doing this a couple times, it would just skip entire songs.
It'd skip six or seven, then do half of one, then skip six or seven more. Later I looked on the
internet for some ideas, so eventually I tried resetting it again, as instructed. This worked for a
little bit, but then it started skipping over songs again. I reset again, and it lost....
