| | I use firefox because it keeps away spyware. I had way too many issues with spyware problems when using IE and tabbed browsing is one of the best features ever. I love it. Also, with the ways you can tweak it around, I have found it be really fast too. Of course this sucks more bandwidth but if you can handle it then by all means go for it. Does anyone else feel that Internet Explorer is too slow? I know it is for me. |

QUOTE(Taupe @ Jan 26 2005, 08:24 PM) You're wrong. IE Mac is much most modern than IE win32, with more standard compliance et less bugs.
It may have gotten further in some places, but it has horrible bugs in others. As far as I have been able to find out at least. Quirksmode.org lists quite a lot of DOM bugs for Explorer for Mac where Explorer for Windows doesn't have errors. It also has a host of CSS problems, as you can see with a quick google.

^ what?!? That's the beauty of it. Other web browsers come with all these things you don't need and never use. With firefox you add what you wanna add and what you are gonna use. Firefox also has many cool extension IE doesn't support. Like switch proxy, linkification, add n edit cookies, and much more.

Yes internet explorer is way to slow. Also did you know that there is a way to actually tweek little parts of fire fox to make it go even faster, but those are hidden features but you can find tutorials just about anywere on how to do it. Anyway I deleted IE cuz itr sucked soo much. So now I use netscape which was made by the same people as firefox but it has lots and lots of security holes and bugs in it just like IE. The only difference is it goes faster then IE. My netscape even did a DDoS attack on my favorite website and the admin thought I actually did. So I wouldnt suggest getting that. But firefox interfears with older builds of Service Pack 2 and kinda screwed up my computer and all of the other web browsers. But now I might switch back to fire fox cuz I got rid of SP2.

I see little point in the "What browser do you use?" topic except to discuss the pros and cons of
different browsers. It's obvious that most people will use Internet Explorer because almost all
computers that are bought for people or sold to them are pre-loaded with Some version of Windows, in
which the only browser is Microsoft's own, Internet Explorer. And since a big proportion of
first-time computers users are not so computer savvy and do not become so because they do not really
need to, they will use what they are given. In the internet Cafe I am typing...

Years ago... I was surfing through web, chating with people. Anyway, someone was wrong and I had
to correct him :P So we exchanged messages then I learned he's a middle aged man. That hit me.
To that point, in my mind he too also a teenager. So I kinda fell remorse, I felt like i acted
disrecpectull to an elder. Just think about it, our minds cant talk to a monitor so we create an
avatar for the people we talk on web. But because we know so little things about them, our mind
copies our own identity. So that's why we are absolutely equal on web. It doesnt mat...
Can The Internet Make You Stupid ?

Hi all, How does the internet affect your thinking ability?? There's little real
"accountability" out there on the net. Anybody can post just about anything ... I you take what
someone says on the net at "face value" ... and believe it. ..then the "wrong" idea gets inside
your head .. and can make you "stupid". Some associated questions to think about: Who do you believe
as an authority on a subject ???? Who do you trust?? How do know when to trust them? How many "blind

Meeting People In Real Life From The Internet
- (11)
What does everyone think about meeting people from the internet in real life? Everyday when i'm
at school or have nothing else to do I talk to people from places such as Canada, Australia, or
Europe and I build an internet friendship. It seems that after chatting nearly everyday you seem to
know more about a person living thousands of miles away than the people you see everyday. I went on
a trip to Canada last week for this folklore festival party and met around 20 people from this one
forum site I always go to. It was really amazing meeting these guys in person ...

Just been thinking on a simple analogy to internet and life. If you would say that internet is
space, and webistes are stars, than somehow i think it would lose meaning, couse most stars have
some sort of planets or thingies that rotate around them. If internet would be space then probably
web servers would be stars, and backbone computers would be galaxies. Backbone computers than again
are just main bandwith carriers around the world, and they couldn't be compared to galaxies
beacouse galaxies are more kind of a collections of stars, and then all web servers would...

Internet Connection Problems
- (5)
This problem never occured to me until just recently. Now this is the third time that this is
happening in less than a week. Basically what happens is that the internet connection gradually
starts to slow down over a period of 10 mins or so and eventually it becomes extremely slow, to the
point that it becomes almost useless. At that point, a message pops up at the bottom of the screen
saying "Network Connection Unplugged", eventhough everything is plugged up just fine according to my
inspection. Than after 10-20 seconds, that message disappears and the internet pops ...

after that I started to design web sites. It was harder then because I didn’t have a comp...
