I prefer Intel...Even i would prefer Intel Celeron on the Amd atholon...I had a normal computer which had celeron processor and it was working very nicely..then i had to buy a laptop and i bought a packerd bell laptop with AMD processor..and it was so much making noise like a halicopter has started the flight..and other worst thing about AMD is that it get heated very much soon...its okay to work in cold places but you cant use it for long time in the hot places , i mean the countries of asia , its really big issue with AMD...but now thanks God, i have INTEL CENTRINO and i believe , although its bit expansive but its the best technology from INTEL... P.S. Every one has his own choices , that was all about me.

Intel certainly has a high amount of reputation through the years. Many companies go along with Intel for these years also. However, AMD was born to challenge Intel in terms of power of their processors. Intel processors definately works fine. AMD counters by making their processors work even faster by adding more transistors. Intel processors uses high power consumption. AMD counters by reducing the amount of power required yet producing high performance. Intel processors get hot very fast. Again, AMD counters with the low requirement of electrical power, lesser heat is generated. And because lesser heat is generated, even higher processing speeds are initiatised. Tech geeks improved by tweaking, overclocking and ultra-cooling the system for enhance and superb speeds which wins Intel processors many times. Intel processors however are much protected such that they are not very tweakable, and not overclockable. The advantage is this step is to prevent accidental error tweaks that can damage the entire processor. Therefore, in my point of view, AMD is generally faster, cooler, cheaper, and consumes lesser power than Intel processors. However Intel is generally safer, more recognised, and more stable than AMD. It all depends on the user's needs. I've haven't tried AMD. The next computer I'm getting would probably be a customised AMD for me to explore and experiment. Definately AMD will be the better choice for a gaming machine.

Well this question has been asked a lot of times...in one way or the other...Please make sure that you search the forum first before making these kind of common posts. If you are sure that a question which you are asking is so uncommon then only you can think of not searching the forums but for questions which are as common as these must be searched and then when you find them...post your opinion! I am closing this thread & if anyone wants to put there opinion..please go to the following link : http://www.trap17.com/forums/which-prefer-...tel-t24481.html

Try Mac Os X Tiger In Your Intel Machine
About using Mac OS X on intel machines and even AMD (3) Mac OS X Tiger on Intel Machines Mac OS X is best know for its UI and simple to use
Operating System. The fact that Mac OS X runs only on PPC(Power PC) made the Mac OS X very less
popular. Now Apple Inc. has ported its OS X operating system also to the Intel Architecture. The
Mac OS X for x86(intel) architecture works only in intel machines sold by Apple Inc. There are also
lost of patched OS X 86 which works on any intel machine. All you got to do is download and install
the OS X 86 on your machine and then apply the patches later. Applying patches manuall....
Intel Targets 32-core Processors In 2010.
Intel Develops Processors with 32 Cores (2) I've found an interesting article about new Intel CPU for servers. QUOTE The processor
code-named Gulftown will have “eight processing nodes” with four cores on each one, according to TG
Daily web-site, which may mean that the chip will consist of several physical dice. Every die will
sport four processing engines, 3MB unified level-three cache, while every core will have 512KB L2
cache. The dice will be connected to each other using “a ring architecture” interconnect technology.
Intel already reportedly has project named Keifer, which is focused around many-co....
Amd Vs Intel
see which brand of processor is more popular (50) I personally preffer the amd chips as they give you much better performance when it comes to games
and that is the main thing i use my pc for. The amd's are also alot cheeper for a equvilent chip
performance. Some of the new Intels are good aswell but they are way over priced !!....
Quad Core From Intel And Amd
What do you get if you put together two dual cores??: A quad Core pro (7) well another AMAZING! news from silicon valley: Intel and AMD are going to release in 2007 the
new QUAD!!! (yep you read it) QUAD!!! core processors!!! just
amazing!!!!, also Amd said that making fastest processors is becoming pretty
trivial, BUT the problem is: Where the hell they are going to put so many transistors? And the heat
produced?: simple, not putting them together, (as they came doing until now ), otherwise, they are
going to put them splitted, two blocks, each one have 2 cores ( 2 * 2 = 4) And the h....
Macbook Pro Arrives
Intel Chips in Mac Hardware (2) APPLE INTEL CORES OUT Yes, it's true. The new Powerbooks from apple have arrives as of
January 10th. And yes, they do sport a new Intel CPU... now that that settles the rumors,
here's the BIG news: the new CPUs are DUAL CORE 65nm CHIPS! Supposedly running 4x faster
than the lastest and greatest powerbook chips from Motorola, these lappys also sport a radeon X1600
GPU! Here are the specs stright form apple's site: QUOTE 1.67ghz intel core duo(1) #

Intel Changing Logo
(0) QUOTE Intel said Thursday that it would scrap its 37-year-old logo as part of a major rebranding
that will emphasize the chipmaker's shift away from its core PC business into consumer products.
The original Intel logo featuring a lowered "e" will be replaced with one showing an oval swirl
surrounding the company's name. The phrase "Leap ahead" will supplant "Intel inside," which
helped bring the company into the public awareness during the PC boom of the 1990s. The new Yonah
mobile chips will also be called core, instead of Pentium M, and be designated ....
Intel Based Macs A Reality
Intel based Macs a reality (4) I was roaming around the internet, and I suddenly found everybody selling the expensive notebook
macs for around $500 to $700 (used), I am currently tempted to buy one. So I went around
the internet looking for info and found in one forum, someone advising not to buy macs until mid
january because something big was coming, and I searched more and found it. The Intel based macs
are finally coming, I thought that they werent going to be a reality until mid 2006 or more, but it
is here and it will have a very low price tag. Read along on the following link. ht....

Apple To Use Intel Microprocessors In 2006
(3) Yes we heard about it already on Newspapers. Many developers,Non-apple users, product developers are
happy to hear that apple finally decided to break out of thier hardware dependent restriction. Now
Mac OS can be installed on Intel processor based computers. Now what will be changed in future? 1.]
Many Windows users will migrate to Macintosh. 2.] Most of the viruses will be written for
Macintosh.Simmilarly many developers will write applications for Macintosh. 3.] Bill gates will
change his strategy for next operating system, possible changes like no product activation.Bac....
Apple Expected To Change To Intel
(8) It appears that Apple plans to use Intel chips instead of PowerPC chips in its new computers. This
could prove to be a very risky move by the company since all the programs and software would have to
be changed to work with the new computers using Intel and those left with the old PowerPC apples are
not going to be very happy. It's going to be interesting to see how the hardcore Mac users are
going to react to this move by Apple and many are probably going to leave Apple for good. I am
just glad I am not a Mac user or else this move would prove to be a very big h....

(15) Intel dual core chips were tested and supposed to perform really well. It was said to do the
