Some facts about India: QUOTE Background The Indus Valley civilization, one of the oldest in the world, dates back at least 5,000 years. Aryan tribes from the northwest invaded about 1500 B.C.; their merger with the earlier inhabitants created the classical Indian culture. Arab incursions starting in the 8th century and Turkish in the 12th were followed by European traders, beginning in the late 15th century. By the 19th century, Britain had assumed political control of virtually all Indian lands. Nonviolent resistance to British colonialism under Mohandas GANDHI and Jawaharlal NEHRU led to independence in 1947. The subcontinent was divided into the secular state of India and the smaller Muslim state of Pakistan. A third war between the two countries in 1971 resulted in East Pakistan becoming the separate nation of Bangladesh. Fundamental concerns in India include the ongoing dispute with Pakistan over Kashmir, massive overpopulation, environmental degradation, extensive poverty, and ethnic and religious strife, all this despite impressive gains in economic investment and output. QUOTE Location: Southern Asia, bordering the Arabian Sea and the Bay of Bengal, between Burma and Pakistan. Area - comparative: slightly more than one-third the size of the US Climate: varies from tropical monsoon in south to temperate in north Elevation extremes: lowest point: Indian Ocean 0 m highest point: Kanchenjunga 8,598 m

Well, I live in India and am enjoying the experience... This is a great country with a great diversity and that is one thing that is unparalelled in any nation. Some more facts about India: The number system was invented by India. Zero was invented by an India mathematician and astrologer, Aryabhatta. Chess was invented in India. India is.......the Largest democracy in the world, the 6th largest country in the world AND one of the most ancient and living civilizations (at least 10, 000 years old). India has the most post offices in the world ! The World's first university was established in Takshila in 700 BC. The value of "pi" was first calculated by the Indian Mathematician Budhayana Until 1896, India was the only source for diamonds to the world. ( Source . Gemological Institute of America ) Although modern images & descriptions of India often show poverty, India was one of the richest countries till the time of British in the early 17th Century. Christopher Columbus was attracted by India's wealth and was looking for route to India when he discovered America by mistake.PROUD TO BE INDIANGooglue, i have been following your posts all over the forum and getting hooked LOL. I think what India is most famous for (in my opinion) is being the birth place for Prince Siddhartha. I heard there are lots of saints and yogis living in India. Is this true? Also heard people saying 'India is the most holy country in the whole world.'. Again, is this true? I guess India is famous(or well-known so to speak) for spirituality. On a side note, I have also heard that there are alot of IT professionals and Indians are the best in It. I have heard alot haven't I? Just want to know if this is true. Anyway, these are just what I have heard, so I don't know if it's true. And yes, I would love to go to India. -Shackman

I'm an Indian (though I was born and brought up in Dubai). I've been to India only for about 1 year probably, but surely did enjoy it primarily because my relatives lived there. Although, India is not a very good place to live (according to me). This is because I've been living in Dubai for quite a long and living in India wouldn't please me much. The hygenic conditions and pollution are not for me. My doctor has adviced me to stay away from any sort of dust or pollution for my lungs; so living in India is a big no no for me.

Teach To Travel
Teach your native language in a foreign country. (2) A few years ago while leaving class at the local community college I noticed an advertisement posed
on the bulletin board about an opportunity to get paid to visit other countries if you had good
grades, and spoke English well. Of course I was skeptical, but intrigued. So I asked around and
did a little research and it turns out to be legitimate. I'm sure there are requirements to
be met but if you are planning to travel the world why not make some money at it in the process.

it's alot more grim than it was five years ago. All we see now are bank robberies and rape
victims. . . when not so long ago we saw happy things on the news, more often than once in a blue

of nations having intermediate range ballistic missiles (IRBMs) with ranges upto 3000 kms. The
success of Agni-III paves the way for India to build its truly intercontinental range missiles

Study Abroad Or Go To College In A Foreign Country
Which to choose? (3) Hello there, Someday when I become an adult, I'd love to move to France. College would be my

I could pick an American college and choose to study abroad for a semester in France or I could
attend a French college. European colleges are cheaper than American colleges, so that is a plus;
however, it costs a lot of money to commute between America and France during holidays and
vacations. Does anyone here have a suggestion on which would be a better choice for realist....

movie. Put it like this we all believe killer's to be insane but I think Anton was actually

programmer is the lowest life form. Everyone despises the programmer, from the sales to the users.
The consultants are people who normally are poor in actual programming, but good at talking and
sales, and they rose up to be a consultant. Here, a programmer works from 8:30am to 9pm everyday
rushing projects. Pay increments are low, and can expected to be laid off by 35 yrs old, once u are

My Theoretical Description Of God/gods/insert Other Name
(8) i have been thinking a lot during my physics classes and learnt that energy can be created or
destroyed so i thought that the creator of the universe has a lot of energy and i mean a lot, the
creator (change name depending on views) TRANSFERRED his energy into the universe causing the
big-bang or whatever and the creator regains his energy as matter is destroyed (i.e. black holes) as
the atoms/matter were created with energy from the creator so when it is destroyed it is either
TRANSFERRED to another atom or matter or to the creator. All the energy is restored to the cre....
Labor Controlling The Country

1980's, Labor caused the dark days. Liberals are the people who actually fixed Labor's
careless mistakes and a $98BILLION debt that took 11.5 years (1996-2007) to fix, and once
they've fixed it, a labor show pony and 70% unionists get back in and stuff it all up! ....

U S Military Mistakenly Flies Nuclear Weapon Over The Country

Superpower India & China -arrival Of Bipolar World
