You have to upload it to your www folder, and that should be all.. then go to your web browser, and type in the address... Of course, the file index.html should have some HTML and/or other code in it!!

Yep, just stick in your public folder (usually public_hmtl or www ) and you will be all set By default a browser will look for any page named "index.htm" or "index.html" before it does anything else. Trap17 creates an index page automatically so you will need to override it with your own index page

to clear things here is a quick step by step process to load the page up 1. log in to cpanel 2. go to file manager 3. go to public folder 4. delete the old index file 5. upload new index file there you go that should make it easier for you.

Hm, well, you can go to the FTP, and access your Public_HTML folder. Then, you should be able to upload your index.html there. Don't put in in any other folder. If an old index.html exists, overwrite it. Make sure that it's in the Public_HTML folder or WWW. Then, you should be able to view your index file as a homepage when you type your site URL. If it doesn't show up type Refresh. If it still doesn't then beats me...

(3) I didn't know where to post this..... this category seemed about as good a fit as there was. on
most webservers (my trap 17 one included), there is a public_html folder and a www folder, anything
uploaded into one also gets put in the other. so i am wondering what is the point of both of these
folders? can someone tell me why each one exists?....

Html Editor Glitch
(7) Three times I've tried using HTML Editor to edit my index.html page and the first 2 times it
instantly deleted all the page's coding and replaced it with the word "undefined". I noticed

The danger of using Index Manager and other .htaccess altering tools.. (3) A few minutes ago I was looking at site management tools section in my Control Panel. The tool
"Index Manager" caught my eye. If I used it, then I wouldn't need to create placeholder pages in

(1) Okay, that might be a stupid question, which it probably is. I apologise in advance, but I
couldn't find answer to it in the manual. I hava a website basis that I've already uploaded,
but I cannot access any of the pages on it - when I go to http://studentunion.trap17.com/ I get
the screen with congradulations, not my starting page, although I followed the instructions on the
page. When I manually try to access the index.php file through the address bar - it says that the
file does not exist although I gave all the necessary permissions for anyone to view it. H....

Enabling Html At A Phpbb
Can't get it going ... (7) I think I' ve done everything by the book. It was allowed on the forum ACP, it is allowed by
user, it seems to be allowed on the posting form, the tag list has been added at the ACP, the

Index.html Does Not Work!
(12) I feel embarrassed to say this, but I do fall in trouble. I put my scripts to public_html directory,
and I forgot what I did. When I go to my homepage, it shows all files and directories in the
public_html directory, but not the right content of my homepage file index.html. If I click the

Installing Phpbb Boards
How do I make them appear at my "index"? (3) I know how to install phpBB boards but I would like to know how to make them appear in the front
page of my domain. My domain is www.brokecollegekidz.com (dns hasnt propagated yet) So for

index.html does not show up (7) Hi there. When I creat html indexes they do not show up on my subdomains unless I directly link to
them ie http://dark.unicornrose.com/index.html I know I should be able to just link this way
http://dark.unicornrose.com and the index show up. If you will go there you will see instead it
