Ok when I enter my website address '...ork.trap17.com' I get the page where it says Welcome to your hosting account. But instead of that I want it to be my forum index which means I have to had '/index.php' on the end. How can I get rid of that page and make it my forum index?
I have the index.php place in the public_html folder and have deleted all instances of index.html nearly 24 hours ago.
First off, you are not supposed to edit the public_html folder and its contents, it is linked to the www folder, in which you should delet the index.html, and then upload the index.php, or you can just make a redirect from index.html to forums/index.php or were ever your forum is located.

Anyways, just delete the index.html file in your public_html folder. And have your files uploaded, that's all you have to do. Just don't touch the permission of the public_html folder and whatever you do, don't touch the www link. Mainly because when you change that shortcut, your account can end up messed up. (Believe me, I once did that on my old school server and basically trashed their website LOL)
There is no htm im not using redirects, my index.php is located in main directory of public_html therefore copying to the www folder. Nothing will work.
well i somehow got rid of mine aint got a clue how but i kinda was messin bout with the files and i deleted all files in public_html and i just uploading my files now and seems to be gone yay
First, upload a simple index.htm or index.html file (whichever your extension choosing) and see if that page comes up as a default page. For example, you make a simple index page that says, "it works". You type your www.yourdomain.com and that page shows up. You now at least know that your file directories are intact and works as it should. If not, you may need TRAP17 to "reset" your directory.
*NOTE: as a UNIX based directory listing, whatever or wherever your index is located, the default directory ALWAYS is /public_html. Therefore your parent directory's (where you see /public_html) index file does not affect your webpage display.
Second, (again as a last resort) write a simple java script in your index.htm (.html) file redirecting to index.php. I understand that our server will support index.php as a default page (when no other index files are present--this is the key) but, again use this method as your last resort.

Hi there. I have been trying to upload a zip file only about 2mb to my account through CPanel.
First I tried uploading it to a new folder in public_ftp. Then i tried to put it in the main part
of public_ftp. I also tried the same thing in public_html. It shows the file being uploaded, and i
get 100 %, but alas, when i look in the folders nothing is there. Is there a restriction on .zip
files? I have had no problems as of yet uploading htm and html pages. Please let me know ASAP.

I can't delete a little file using file manager in Cpanel. I'm trying to delete a .png
image, actually, I'm trying to replace it. The response comes back as a success, but when I
reload my site it's still there. Then I go back to the file manager and go up a level, then back

Ok, I want to host a video that I have in my computer, but the problem is that the video is too
big, 790MB. My host can't handle a file that huge so I was wondering if there is any way I can
make the video file in my computer smaller? I don't want to mess up the video and make it

I use a single php file for all my tag decorations and image calling so that each page is lighter
and therefore isn't bogged down with the same repeated code over and over, which allows me not
only to much easier change my layout and design (as I often do) but once I've finally gotten it

hello, well i had created a subdomain and was transferring files into the folder i was disconnect
from the server many times while uploading the files via ftp once when i reconnect, i saw a file
with an unusual name something starting with preftp... i tried deleting the file, but it said that
permission was not granted to do that i tired deleting the complete folder and also tried deleting
the subdomain from the cpanel but it was of no use can anyone help me with this? thx for your time

to use as a comic repository. For some reason, a lot of the files are missing, and when I look into
the folders, I see that a lot of the files have a filelength of 0. What gives? Could someone

I didn't know where to post this..... this category seemed about as good a fit as there was. on
most webservers (my trap 17 one included), there is a public_html folder and a www folder, anything
uploaded into one also gets put in the other. so i am wondering what is the point of both of these
folders? can someone tell me why each one exists?...
I know awhile back there was a question brought up about the /TMP folder taking up space, and if
anyone remembers that topic do you remember if TMP was an acronym for temporary, and can you safely
delete the contents in that folder? Right now I am cleaning out my hosting account and the files in

Three times I've tried using HTML Editor to edit my index.html page and the first 2 times it
instantly deleted all the page's coding and replaced it with the word "undefined". I noticed

Alright, I figured out the edit html windows need to be refreshed each time opening them for them to
show the last updates so you don't just work off the old, un-updated version and mess everything
up (which really should get fixed). The problem that most annoys me though is when I try deleting
files and the File Manager doesn't delete them. I try uploading updated files over them and it
doesn't update them, but just keeps the old ones there. It's getting really annoying. And
when I try deleting stuff from the Trash Can, it never deletes it. Sometime...

Okay, I am having trouble saving changes to a .css file using the cpanel filemanager. Basically it
worked for me a couple of times (trying to edit "compiled.css") but now it just throws this error at
me every time I click save!! I cannot delete, move, rename or edit the file at all using an

I've chosen to install WordPress manually and things were going well so far...until I hit an
installation error when I tried to run the install.php file on my browser. For the record, I
logged into CPanel and went into MySQL Databases, created the databases, the username and added the
user to the database - as suggested in the installation procedure. Perhaps there's a mistake in
