| | well i m looking for image resizer utility after trying the same with windows xp power toy as image resizer i love it.
it is good utility and i think if anyone knows samll utility like this for win2k and win 9x that will help me and some of my friends.if you never seen this utility chck out micosoft site.powertoys are awesome anyway if you get one pls replky. |

there is a really good free one that you can do a lot to images with and its small and fast..... its called IfranView and you can download it and its plug-ins at http://www.irfanview.com/ . i think its worth it, you can resize images and make small ones huge without making it look all blocky and pixilized.... so go get it!

Mahesh2k, Check out the "XnView" image viewer utility. Iv'e used it for many years & it always performs image conversions (eg JPG>GIF etc.) & re-sizing flawlessly. It's light weight, small program and also does basic image manipulation-perfect for when you don't want to fire up Photoshop etc. I think you can find it at www.XnView.com . Happy pixeling! RGPHNX

I am with the other two guys. Irfanview is a very small freeware program that will resize and rename your files properly if you need it. Its a quick loading program if you want to view a set of files you have in one folder too. It has a feature where you click an arrow and it loads the next image in that folder. Its kind of like having a photo album at your fingertips. I have a few folders that have hundreds of images in them that I occationally like to view so Irfanview has been a life saver. Beth

i used to use irfanview like 6 or 8 years ago but stopped because it wasn't that great. Maybe it has improved since then. what I would like is a BATCH image resizer to make thumbnail images. Can irfanview do this? Or do I have to do each resize manually?

Ifanview defnitly the best small one that iv come across! go download it for yourself and then you'll be able to comment on what you think about it!!!!

Any graphic software can do the job. But point is may be you dont want a bulky one. Most probably you want a tiny software for resizing images.. And it should have BATCH job option... Try "coolresizer". That's what i use though hundreds are there free on the web.
