Most of the information given here is false. You have to be VERY careful with this. First of all, although kind of irrelevant, burning copies of CDs for your friends or family is VERY illegal. Now, about your situation. You cant allow people to even HEAR music (that means upload to the server) that has a copyright attached to it. ALL music by big name artists (and even some small artists) is copyrighted. Unless you have written permission from the artists that hold the copyright to use the music in the exact format that you plan to use it in, you cannot use copyrighted music. No, buying a CD does not mean that you can use the copyright as you wish, it just means that you can listen to the copyrighted music for your own enjoyment ONLY. The only way to get music on your website is to write the songs yourself, and then upload those songs. And if you haven't copyrighted your music, then it's open for anyone to use for themselves in whatever means they want. That's my two cents, remember I may be wrong, and I DON'T warrant you any saftey with following my instructions. All this was intended to do was to help you, and I am not making any warranties. My recommendation: don't offer music.

Lol, of course they are. It still has the song of the artist in it. The only possible difference is that the music video has more owners than the song itself.

I have seen other websites that do this, but just incase I would agree that you use flash or another option I would consider is Wimpy Player. It's easy to use and really works well and only needs some simple HTML code added to customise it.

As long as the songs you're making available were purchased by you and not downloaded from Bearshare or it's equivalent and the users on your site cannot download the songs FROM your site, then this practice is perfectly legal.

s2city, for some reason i think you are right, b/c if someone uses a program to record the audio that is going through their sound card, then that is illegal! I still dont want to get in trouble for it!

Well, I do know that for StationRipper you can set up a station for people to listen to any music you have and that's completely legal since they don't know what they'll be hearing. You won't need copyrights for that, but for the station to be up I believe the computer hosting it needs to be on for it to stream from so a lot of the main radio streamers are those with extra computers. Would be a possibility though.

Rpg Maker 2003 Music Problem
(3) I have been working with RPG Maker 2003 and I have run into a problem. When I open the BMG tab I
try to listen to music. However, when I click play nothing happens. I have the Rtp file with the
standard midis in it. But they just wont play. The WAV files included do play. The only way they
seem to play is if I put all of the files into my windows media player. Once the first song has
played and as long as the player is running I can listen to songs via the RM2K3 program. However,
