| | My site at http://nerdnirvana.org/ has a search box in the top-right. The only problem is that it only shows up in Firefox (I think). I got someone else to look at it, and they suggested that I float the search box. I did, but that didn't help. The next day, I upgraded to IE 7, and the search box showed up, but I think that it still does not show up in Internet Explorer 6.
Does anyone know what's wrong? Most of my visitors are on IE, and I need that search box so that they will find what they're looking for.
Thanks! |

I used to have my site's screenshot indexed at browsershots.org, but I don't anymore, so I can't see what's going on. Does it look like it does in Firefox? If not, can you send me a screenshot?

Apart from a larger space between the button and the green line in IE it looks the same.

Opera Firefox Internet Explorer 6 Indeed the search box doesn't show up in IE6. The rest of the browsers rendered perfectly.

Thanks for the screenshots, Inspiron. Can you guys think of a way where I can get the search box to show up as it does in Firefox?

I told you yesterday that it's there. Inspiron it's cos you've got Adblock on Opera and Firefox. Scroll down the page in IE and you'll see the search box.

I don't think snlildude87 was refering to that. He was refering to the box that suppose to appear on the top right cornor of this site, like what it should on Opera and Firefox. By the way, yes I've got AdBlock on Opera, but not on Firefox. Hence I see Ads everywhere on Firefox. Neither do I have AdBlock for Internet Explorer.

Sorry, you're right. I was looking at the wrong search box. It's the position: absolute that's causing the problem. Remove that, leave the float: right and move the whole <div> to just before your h1. You'll need to do a bit more playing around after that to get it right.

I wish I still had my IE6. Okay, I did what you said, Tyssen, and I played around with the settings. I got everything to look the same, in Firefox and in IE7, but I need to see what it looks like in IE6 before I release it. Sending a job to browsershots.org would take too long, so could one of you guys screenshot it for me again? Thanks! Edited layout: http://nerdnirvana.org/newlay0ut/testsearchbox.htm
