| | I just noticed while browsing thru some subforums here in trap that the icons for the threads don't specify if I have made posts on the thread. I've been to other forums and they have customized icons for threads like if a thread is locked, active (hot topic) or if you have posted something there. I know some of you would think this wouldn't be necessary but I think it's important especially to prevent double-posting on threads, repeating threads and stuff. That's just my observation anyway.

An Icon Issue
Win XP desktop icons take ages to show (7) Hi, first of all, a very Happy New Year to everyone. Now for my problem: I use Win XP SP2 on a 2.8
Ghz dualcore P4 processor machine, 1 Gb RAM, 250 Mb HDD. Whenever I boot up, or even when I return
to the bare desktop after having had a number of windows open for a while, my icons on the desktop
are all blank ones, such as the ones you get when there is no program associated with a certain
file. Then, one by one, they begin to get the appearance they should have, but it is a real drag
which takes ages, and the PC is not very responsive while it happens. I seem to remem....

XP SP2, and I just fired up the machine to find the Icons have increased in size and would like

Why can't anyoine just choose. (15) Seriously, the number of topcs exactly the same over xbox 360 or ps3 or wii is stupid. No-one is
getting anything out of such topics here at the trap, and everytime a new person seems to register,
a new topic seems to show up. These are always "I can't decide on xbox of ps3 help?" Blah!
Now come on, PLEASE stop making these topics. Do your own research, instead of for the sake of
posting and simply get whichever one you want. After all it's your choice in the end!!

A "save As Draft" Button
saving your topics or posts for later editing (13) i realized while typing earlier i had the urge to find a "save as draft" button. i guess i was so
fixated with my blog. but anyway, my point is what if the forum was to include this feature so
whatever you write, you could save them for posting later on. i was thinking maybe some people would
have some stuff to do and they have to shut down the computer (not everyone can leave their computer
on, and that would be a waste of energy), but they have already written their topics/posts.
moreover, some people would have second thoughts in posting their topics so they could sav....
Posting In Old Topics
Is it wrong to post in very old topics? (12) Ok I have a question that kind of makes me mad, I cannot remember but a while ago I posted in a
topic that was old and one of the moderators ( Do not remember who ) said that I should not post in
old topics? So Trap17 should a topic not be important and should not be read or cared about because
it is old? I still think that we should be allowed to post in them! ( Or was it just this

Trap17 Topics: Too Many!
(29) I'm not trying to put Trap17 down, but I've been getting kind of overwhelmed with all of the
topics Trap17 has to offer. It's kind of a good thing, because you always have something to
write about, so you can always get points; but it gets to be too much after a while. First of all,

Not Another Free Domain

Show Desktop Icon
How to I do it? (9) Do you know the icon on the quick launch bar which allows you to show the desktop once click on it?
Alternatively, you can right click on the task bar and click on the option 'Show the
Desktop'. My problem is I have accidentally deleted the show desktop icon on the quick launch
bar on the taskbar. Is there a way I can bring it back? I know I can show the desktop by right
clicking and then selecting the option I want. But it is very troublesome for me, I would prefer

Why Are There Errors?
Why are there errors in some topics I post? (2) Why is it that when I view some of my posts it says error? Cant these topics by me be viewed by
other users? I was wondering if this error is on the database of trap17.com forums. Ive had this
problem also in my WAP community site some months ago. It was due to the quotes and double quotes
people post. But Im not sure what is the problem in here. Invision Power Board should have fixed

Millions of replies = waste of time (4) Every now and then, I find one of these topics around the forum asking what people do. I usually
reply, and over time, the amount of replies in that thread really adds up, and I don't really
have the time to go and disable the reply notifications of all these topics. It's like every
member of the forum replies to it. I get really annoyed, because I get areply notofications for
every topic I post in, and I have to get by those in my email (Gmail does weird things with the

Net Connection Taskbar Icon Disappeared
(8) hi For some unknown reason, when I connected to the internet today, the internet connection icon in
the taskbar didn't appear. I tried unchecking and re-checking the "Show icon in notification
area when connected" box under my connection's properties, and the Customize Notifications under
Taskbar Properties still lists the internet connection as "always show". I willing to go into my
Registry to fix this problem. Any help? Thanks ahead!....
Creating Your Own Icon
(23) It is easy to create your own icon, just pick a bitmap (.bmp) file and change its extension to .ico.
To do so, open the Windows Explorer, click on the View menu (or Tools in WinMe), click Folder
Options, click View tab, remove the check on the "Hide file extensions for known files types"
option, and then click OK. Select a bitmap file, press F2 key, and then change its extension to
