I've made simple batch files using cpuburn4 in conjunction with runprio.exe for maximum stressing of components.
Important: Be sure to close all open documents. If your PC crashes during testing, your data will be lost if you don't. I'd recommend not to use your PC while testing, since it will be very slow during testing (the test is run in high priority mode).
After downloading the ZIP file, do the following: - Extract. - Now run one of these files:
!burnP5.bat - Intel Pentium w&w/o MMX processors !burnP6.bat - Intel PentiumPro, PentiumII&III&IV and Celeron CPUs !burnK6.bat - AMD K6 processors !burnK7.bat - AMD Athlon/Duron processors !burnmmx.bat - to test cache/memory interfaces on all CPUs with MMX !burnbx.bat - an alternate cache/memory test for Intel CPUs
- let your PC run for at least two hours (better: 8 hours, or even 24h). If it doesn't produce errors you are pretty safe that you've got a stable system.
3) Testing your memory (RAM)
- Download memtest86 and create either a bootable Floppy or a bootable CD (see website for images). - Boot your PC and run the test (read the instructions). search about cpuburn4+runprio.zip

I installed a new PCI Video Card for my PC and when I started to boot up the computer nothing came
up. Not even the BIOS system checks.I figured the video card I put was broken so I tried another
card, it worked. For some reason it won't boot up. Is there a solution to this problem?....
Currently, I am using a Pentium 4 630 (running at 3.0GHz factory default) powered PC which I have
overclocked to 3.40GHz. Combined with a 1.0GB of Dual channel DDR 400 (which my ASRock motherboard
is clocking down to DDR 333) with 240GB (80GB x 3 ) and 4 CD/DVD drives (3x CD-RW + 1 DVD-RW). My
motherboard is being powered by an Intel 865GV Northbridge chipset (800 FSB). It is not like this
computer is not functioning properly, but I want a higher performance considering the fact that I am
runing a lot of multitasking aplications like 3DSMax, MAYA, Photoshop CS3, DW CS3....
Well I got two weeks left in the semester and on August 18th I will have built my first computer
from scratch, now hopefully during the rest of the year I will have build up a series of topics on
computer hardware and tutorials on building a computer from scratch that most of you will never have
to buy a pre built system again /biggrin.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":D" border="0"
alt="biggrin.gif" />. With that being said this is the final specs of the computer I will be
building, after I had a fluke with my floppy drive (had the wrong one). Keyboard &....

I hadn't been able to play the Sims 2, and I figured out it was because my video card wasn't
supported. So I went out and picked up a cheap GeForce FX 5200 ($50) and installed it in my
computer. Well as soon as I turned my computer on, everything was normal. But I noticed the
resolution was huge when it got to my desktop and when I went into Display Properties, it was the
only resolution setting there. So I figured I'd install the video card drivers that came on the
software CD. After that it prompted me to restart my computer, and when I did, everything....
This has been an issue for many years now but it has really started to bother me as of late.
Whenever I play any game, after about 30-40 minutes, the rendering of the graphics start to have
problems. At times there are black patches, pointed edges sticking out of the screen's display
and things like that. I do not know what is the problem? I suspect it is a compability issue and as
a result these 'wierd' things are occurring but can anyone help me? I will give you a list
of my system capatibilities SYSTEM PENTIUM® 4 CPU 2.66 GHz 2.67 GHz, 512 MB of RAM ....
Ok so i use my laptop at school for all my notes in physics and biology but for my diagrams i am
currently using either paint or Microsoft onenote's built in drawing tool, what i want is a
digital pen for the diagrams, i have seen this one
http://www.logitech.com/index.cfm/products...,categoryid=401 But it seems to me that you do your
writing/diagramms then download it, but what i need is as i write the diagram comes up on the screen
on Microsoft Onenote which is what i use for my notes. What can i use?....
The operations that take place when a hardware interrupt occurs are as follows: 1.A special chip
called Interrupt Controller chip receives the interrupt signal. 2.The Interrupt Controller chip
notifies the microprocessor that an interrupt has occurred. 3.To keep track of what microprocessor
was doing before it was interrupted, it saves the contents of registers CS, IP and Flags in stack.
4.The microprocessor retrieves the number of the interrupt from the Interrupt Controller chip.
5.Having found out the interrupt number, it multiplies this number by four (since each add....

I've had my laptop since October of 2004 and I've had some heat related crashes ever since
the beginning, but the crashes were few and far between, never bothered me too much and a cooling
pad seemed to take care of the problem. Unfortunatelty, this summer I am living in a rather hot room
and the crashes came back with a vengence, 2, 3 or more times a day, depending on what I am doing.
I have done a lot of reserach and tried pretty much everything from reinstalling to replacing the
thermal paste on the cpu. Nothing helped, but I noticed that neither gpu or cpu i....
hi guys and girls i was reading the Windows XP magazine the other day when i came accross this.
QUOTE JUST ADD WATER The computer of the future has an unusual new ingredient: water. Scientists
have discoverd that adding water to there existing nanotechnology makes it a reliable way to store
millions of gigabytes in tiny spaces: 12,800,00 can be squashed into a single square centimetre. The
system uses minuscule ferroletric wires, the magnetic polarity of which can be flipped to store
binary data. Until now they weren't stable enough to be reliable, but research....

I have a 5.1 Sound System. It works great in 2 channels but when I switch to 5.1 the subwoofer
ain't working. My motherboard has a nvidia 4 ultra chipset so it supports 5.1 configuration.
Also in nvidia mixer when I use sound test everything is great and I can hear the subwooofer working
as is should. But when I want to watch a movie or listen to music the subwoofer is as good as dead.
Can somebody help me? ....

After installing a new 2.8 GHZ P4 my computer will not boot. All fans spin but no POST. Another
interesting fact is that my CD-ROM will not power up either (works on my old 333mhz system though).
Reading around I've learned that the problem is either: 1)mother board 2)CPU 3)PSU I have tried
it with a brand new MB but no success, still no POST. Is it possible that my cheap 425watt PSU will
not generate enough power for this new CPU (even though it successfully powered my 2GHZ celeron)?
Unfortunately, the pins on the older Celeron got bent so I cannot test with this....
for my the worst tech and hardware company is LG ... i think this is because of my history ... 1

I have a strange problem and I hope some of you can help me solve it. Not long ago I made some
backup DVDs of my work. I made them at my friends, because I don't have a DVD writer. When I
try to open them in my computer, I have major problems. Sometimes it works, but mostly it
doesn't. My DVD/cd-rw combo unit from LG reads it as blank cd. It is strange, because sometimes
I get lucky and all the content of DVD is there and I can use it. But this happens after many
repetations of eject - go in - eject - ... Does anybody have a more stable and permanent solution....
Hey people, I recently bought Halo combact evolved and installed it into my HDD but to my surprise,
I could not play the game due to VGA Hardware problems. I am using an nVIDIA RIVA 64 PRO/64M with
32 MB memory and it is running at 300MHz onboard processor speed with 1.4GB transfer speed. The game
complained that It is having probs with my VGA. I ran an analysis of my VGA with a system analysis
software called Everest Home Edition and I was able to detect that my VGA does not have a feature
called Hardware Transform and Lighting. I think thats the problem with t he ....
I recently purchaced a USR 5699b and had very bad results, I then exchanged it for another 5699b,
and had even worse results, for example I actualy make a connection about 50% of the time, but of
that the liklyhood of the connection working is quite slim. Here is a screenshot of a ping
google.com -t that I ran, before, during and after a connection: How come it can make a
successful connection twice, and then not be able to make the connection anymore? and this
isn't a one time thing, as you can tell by the scroll bar, I have been running the ping for
awile, a....
Today, I turned my computer on like any other days... When the "log-on" window had problems with
the loading, I understood immediately that my GFX card had problems. When my computer had loaded
everything, I checked my screen properties... Even if the resolution was normal (but the screen was
too much on the right), it showed that my resolution was set to 480x640, and the colors was on 8
bits. (but the screen had the normal resolution (1280x1024) and the colors was on 32 bits!) I
clicked cancel, and then my screen was set to 480x640. strange... Well, I turned it ba....
