Well I just figured out that when I add "/index" to the end of my url it works. So how do I make it to where my changes show up under the .trap17.com url?

BuffaloHELP
The default index page is still up, and that's why you were seeing that previous post message.

You must replace the default index.html page. And I'll make it easy for you. First DELETE all index page under the folder public_html. Then upload YOUR index page under the folder public_html. The next time you type JUST your URL (yoursite.trap17.com) without /index your intended index page will show up.

The confusion is that index can have HTML and HTM extension. And HTML is read first followed by HTM extension... then SHTML, PHP etc.

SO I deleted the my old index pages and I have nothing to work with now. Can I just go to the www folder and create a new file? IF so, what would I name it? Would it be www.mysite.trap17.com?

Sorry for all the questions guys but I just dont quite understand what to do yet...

If your other index file has been deleted go to the www or public_html file and upload a new index file and that will be the main page. Ex: If you upload index.htm into your ww or public_html folder that will be your main page. That means if you go to www.mysite.trap17.com it will take you to your index page. Just make sure your other one has been deleted before you do this.

You said upload file? Is it upload file or create file. If its upload then Im lost again b/c I have no file I want to upload. Im gonna build my site from scratch....

Reply

Plenoptic
Either or. You can upload a file you made on your computer or you can create it on your cpanel If you made a template on your computer and coded it you could upload it as well. It doesn't really matter which one. Whatever is easier for you.
