all of a sudden, you see, my loyal hard drive decided to retire about a week ago. i had to buy a new
hard drive to replace it, and resume my computer tasks. my old drive is just lying around in my room
after that, and i'm wondering how to at least get ahold of my files there (at least the most
recent ones -- mostly downloads -- which i failed to backup before it decided to die down on me), if
it's still possible. my old harddrive can't be detected in the bios, and it makes this
clicking noise on boot up. i remember this hard drive freezer trick i read befor...

I have an old modem that still works fine (The cable guys thouht it was bad so they gave us a new
one for free). So I got this modem and my two computers. The two computers don't like eachother
and won't connect through an ethernet. Basically what I want to do is hook up my two

there were major problems with my computer (reasons don't matter) and i couldn't reformat it
the right way... (by popping in the xp disk). so i put it in another computer as a secondary drive
in a different computer, and it was successful. those of you who are experienced with OEM disks
are probably expecting the horrors i am about to relate to you... as anyone with a speck of
knowledge about hardware knows, there is no way to COMPLETELY erase a hard drive, no matter which
way you reformat it. so, when i booted up my computer again, it gave me a message "NTLD...
