Introduction
Proxying is a way to change your internet protocol address, what idenifies you as you on the internet. While there are ways to get your real ip still, most webiste don't go that far as to get your real one if you're proxying. This will get you out of an IP ban on a forum or your favorite game.

How to use a proxy
To use a proxy all you need to know is to navigate to a web page, and set some options in your browser.
In Mozilla Firefox, the browser everyone should use, all you need to do is thus:

1. Go to http://www.stayinvisible.com/index.pl/proxy_list or http://www.samair.ru/proxy/
2. Find a proxy that you wish to use, make sure you remember the ip address and port for later use.
3. Click the "Tools" menu.
4. Click the "Options" under tools.
5. Click the button "Connection Settings"
6. Select the option "Manual proxy configuration"
7. Type the ip address in the "HTTP Proxy."(the ip should look like this "217.17.233.133")
8. Type in the port in the "port" section of "HTTP Proxy." (should be after the ip listed usually "80")
9. Click "ok" and now you've proxied!

[b]In Internet Explorer[b]
First, select an IP Address, and Port from this list http://www.stayinvisible.com/index.pl/proxy_list or http://www.samair.ru/proxy/

Now do this:

1.Click "Tools"
2.Click "Internet Options"
3.Click "Connections"
4.Click "LAN Settings"
5.Select "Use a proxy server ...."
6.Put the IP in the "Address" text box, and Port number in the "Port" text box.
7.Click "OK"
8.Go to www.ipchicken.com and see if it works.

The http://www.stayinvisible.com/index.pl/proxy_list URL did not work before, which is why I had to delete your tutorial It works now.

If you don't want to physically select an IP then put it into your browser, you can go to http://www.anonymouse.ws or http://www.megaproxy.com (Select "TRY IT FREE") and surf through their windows.

Also, for FireFox, to select an IP you go:

Tools --> Options... --> General --> Connection Settings --> Select "Manual Proxy Configuration" --> Select "HTTP Proxy" --> Put in the IP and Port (I believe the port is usually 8080) --> OK --> OK

There's a shareware called Proxy Switcher that can help you resolve this issue. This software maintains a list of proxies that you feed into it - and then makes your browser switch to any of them upon demand. No need to mess around with the Connection Settings all the time. Easier, cleaner, simpler
