| | I'm curious...how many have a job? and, if yes, what is it? and, are a student, too? or just a worker? and, if this ain't too...personal, what's your wage?
I can't quite work coz of my studies...i'm going to college so that I can get a asscoitate degree in business and majoring in Digital Arts-T.V Video Production, Graphics, Stuff like that. I think of what i'll earn when i'll get to work after I finish college...hm, and it kinda frightens me...
What about you? |

Well I did landscaping starting when I was 13 making $7 an hour working over the summer and sometimes after school but after this past summer (I'm 15 now) I pretty much stopped working because now that school started again I have no transportation because it was my friend's dad and he would drive me but now he is in college while I'm still in high school. I am currently trying to find another job but it seems for everything you have to be atleast 16 years old even for the simplest places like the Dollar General and the places that hire 15 year olds aren't hiring at the moment.

I'm working for my school, fixing computers. They give me a G3 Laptop and 8.20 an hour. :] I enjoy it, until I have to fix a mean teachers computer. Then they just make things difficult.

lucky dogs making 15 an hour, what/who are you working for... wish i made that much in my first job.. my first job was working at my Jr High school during the summer fixing computers, and fax machines, and copiers that the ignorant teachers broke.. and i was only making minimum wage for california which is 6.75 i wanna move to washington where minimum wage is 7.50 or somwhere around that... but when i get done with college, i wont have to worry about min wage, just the 40-50 an hour i will be making, then on the side maybe graphics and a hosting company but i must plan for that.

lol Ya I wish I could make that much money. I was happy just to make $7 an hour while my older brother made minimum wage at Mc. Donalds minus taxes. lol I hope to find a job doing data entry or something for an office or medical clinic on the weekends. It seems people belive 15 year olds aren't mature enough to have jobs but really the only ones looking for jobs at 15 are mature. lol or are said to be

Currently i am a student at the University of Delaware. As for a job i have / had numerous ones. Over the summer I had an internship with an internation chemical company doing IT for them which was crazy fun. Also, i worked giving tours at my school and i do the website for a local bar / restaurant. Now that school is back in session, i currently am only doing the website but will be starting to give tours soon again. Both are fun and pay for beer / pizza and any other activities i do at college.

Any one know how much they pay? whether its good or not? I hate how they take so long to reply.. I heard that the policy is that they have to call after 2 weeks other wise we can call up. thats true right?

I have had my share of jobs in my life. I am currently beginning a Design and PrePress job at a local printer. I have been doing a 2year stay at home career watching my kids... It is great, being a dad and all, but I need to start doing the ME and not so much 24/7 dad patrol. I will always be dad, I will be able to enjoy time back at home when I come back from work. I have three degrees and I have been looking for real work now for a few months. It is just not that easy to find the jobs here in NC, or maybe go as far as saying the Design/Computer field is nice, but not as easy of a find. And it is like cut throat with other applicants being so competitive... So I am happy to have landed this job. It is starting out more entry level and then working my way back up to where I may want to be... so I will start at 12/hr... but will work my way to at least 15/hr.

Currently I work at a fluid dynamics lab at a local college. Best job ever. We get to screw around and work on cool experiments and get paid for it.

I am also a student and work at Asda, part of the walmart family. I study in cambridge, so rent is twice as much as what i would pay in my home town but my student loan does not reflect this and my parents cannot pay for me so i have to have a job. My contracted hours are 12pm to 8pm on saturdays and i earn £6.44 an hour (not sure what that is in dollars) which is not bad pay although in my home town i would be earning £7 - £7.50 an hour. The good thing about asda is they are really flexible and i am able to drop hours if need be and also do as much overtime as i like. During the summer i will do 60 - 65 hours a week, and if i am low on money during term time i can usually fit in 35 hours a week which is a bit of a struggle around my university work but i have managed it before as well as being able to keep my grades up. Usually i will do my normal shift and a couple of four hour evening shifts which keeps me ticking over. I am studying zoology and my lecturers are not very positive about getting a job after i graduate. They recommend either studying for a masters or phd or volunteering for a couple of years. Still these pathways do not guarantee a job as there are so many people trying to get into the field. There are some jobs which pay fairly well and i could use my degree for, such as water quality positions, but i do not want to work in these sorts of jobs. Hopefully my degree will not be a waste of time and i'll be able to use it after i graduate without getting into loads of debt, and i am keeping my fingers crossed for the future!
