just to learn the basic html it will probably take you around two weeks depending on if you really work on it or not about two weeks ago i started out learning it without any previous experience with it and so far i have learned alot its really not that hard once you start it.

I think HTML is very hard when you don't know a thing about it.it takes me awhile to learn in fact I still do lol.I hate it because I hate complicated things lol.

I learnt HTML in WYSIWYG editor (eg Frontpage) within a few days. It took me a bit longer (about a week or two) to learn it manually via code. Since then I learnt a bit more beyond it and the later extensions (eg ASP, PHP, and so forth). So interestingly enough, if you just want to create a simple or organised type page, a WYSIWYG editor such as Frontpage or Dreamweaver may do. I use the later for its CSS (Cascading Style Sheet) capabilities.

Manually may be good as well, but some may not have the patience to type it up manually the whole day, or either some do not wish to learn the HTML language.

Ummm.... I would learn XHTML, They don't make newer versions of HTML any more. I would also learn PHP. All the necessary tutorials are at .It took me an hour to learn the basics there.

it only took me a weekend to learn the basics, like building a homepage and all but i still got alot of studying to do before i can say i "know" it i'd say in a few weeks anyone should be able to learn it!

It took me a few months to learn HTML, but it wasn't a big priority. Plus, there are so many websites out there that give you the codes you need if you can't figure out what to do. I prefer PHP for making blogs and other more complicated things than just posting pictures like an album. (PHP can help with making an online album, too)

Learn it step by step. Learn only what you need to know, when you need to know it, example: don't learn how to use frames if you're not designing a site with frames. Focus only on the useful first, then apply it to the situation, kick and scream when it dosen't work, figure out why it dosen't work, then make it work!
Then do it again with something else. Trial and error is the best way. Just go in and get your hands dirty like a new surgeon, but try not to kill anyone...Pretty soon you'll be doing it with your eyes closed.

well at first it is very hard to try and get used to using HTML but after a while you get the hang of it. For my first website (which was friend pages) i had to know how to use HTML and it was very tricky at first. I didn't exactly know what i was doing. But then after reading about HTML i started to be able to use it a lot easier. It only would really take sometime to read about it and then you should be able to do some more of the basic stuff and then you could move on to more advanced stuff. But personally, it took me about 2 weeks for the basic's and it took me about 3 weeks to learn some more advanced stuff and I've been going on from there. But yeah i would start reading about how to do some stuff on Google as soon as possible because the sooner you start, the less time it'll take and before you know it you'll be a pro. Trust me, i know from experience. Don't give up on it because it's confusing in the beginning. I was planning on doing that but then i realized that if i just gave it some more time, i would get better. So don't give up and start looking on Google ASAP! Hope I helped!!

I didn't really sit down and study it, I just picked it up as I used the Internet. It's an incredibly simple language and I wouldn't imagine it taking more than a day or so to get a good grasp on.
