| | Joined forum all right but when I try to set up hosting account using the same info it says 'error only 1 account per person' I tried to use a different name but got same reply. I get this problem with nearly EVERY place I try to sign up for anything. I wish these places could sort themselves out properly. Can anyone explain. I'm suprised anyone has managed to join. Tell me the secret

You have to post regularly on these forums, build up 30 credits, and then request hosting. Most of your questions will be answered if you read the readme although it appears to be slightly funky at the moment. Many of us have successful and happy hosting at trap17.

There could be an error with his account somehow. Look at his post count. It's still 0 at the time he posted and started this thread. The hosting credit system might not also be working for him. You might have wait for the administrator to look into your account for further troubleshooting.

Just noticed this topic is posted under Computinghost > Technical questions, so it begs the question : "which service are you attempting to connect to?". Computinghost is a Paid service, trap17.com is a free service. Their registrations are, of course, different and if we know which one you are questioning, we will be in a better position to answer you. Please reply to this so we can continue to assist, or issue a PM to me. Thanks.

Negative, he only has one post and that is here in this board, but this is a no post counting board, so that's why his postcount is still zero.

You need to make a username and password. Then get your points by posting on this forum and then you can sign up for your free webspace. You need 10 points at the least or if you have 30 points you can get more space and Band width.

Yeah! thanks for above, but it doesn't help much. All I was trying to join was trap17.net which doesn't need any postings to join. I thought I would join the forum first anyway because forums are useful. Then I tried to sign up for hosting service with the same number/password as I used to join the forum and was told there was already an account from that address (which there isn't). One set of info should do for both forum and hosting or there should be a way of starting from scratch. This is a common problem with a lot of sign up forms.

Trap17.net is a sister company as well. There may be a good answer for why the account name is not available for you, but I do not have access to the information, so let me suggest that you might have to adapt to a new name and password to allow the trap17.net account to be set-up. Simply browse to trap17.net and have a go at it. Post back here to let us know if it works. Thanks.

Moving to Trap17 dot NET since the topic is related to instant hosting. Please be specific when asking your question: Trap17.com, Trap17.net or ComputingHost.com. Try using different email address for your email address may have been used to signup for an account in the past. Trap17.net receives so many spam account activation per day. Therefore, you can either use different email address or see if you can actually use "forgot password" and get the password associated with your email address.

Thanks for above. But whatever I try it thinks I'm trying to open another account. Once it's got your IP address logged it won't let you sign up again from the same computer. As I pointed out it didn't let me sign up the the first time, so I wasn't trying to open more than one account. Thanks again for your help. We tried. Paul

AnGel KiSS, This is the Trap17 dot NET forum. dot NET account does not require hosting credits and is instant approval. However there's ad banner on top of every page for dot NET and limited xPanel control. dot COM is where all the action is and with total cPanel control. Paul decided not to take my offer by having me create his account. Therefore, this topic is closed. Please PM moderators if this topic needs to be reopened.

Yes many are sucessful and happy, I am a hosted member at Trap 17. Here are some things you need to know and before you request for a hosting account here. Before Requesting an account:- read the rules and readme - have 10 credits. - how do you get credits? post but do not spam. make quality posts. not like "hey." or "hi im new whatsup?" An admin may give you a warning on that. - you can get 2 plans. For the first plan you only need 10 credits. and for the second, you will need 30 credits. The plans are different, the second plan has more file space and stuff like that. I am currently hosted as the 10 credit one. What you have to know:- Make sure you have 10 or 30 credits. (whichever plan youre getting) Thats all I can think of right now, then after all that go apply for an account.

QUOTE(BuffaloHELP @ May 2 2006, 08:52 PM) paultap,
I'm sorry that you're having some difficulties signing up with Trap17 dot NET. I am not a server admin for dot NET account. However, I know IP is not used for disabling signing up an account because I made 2 demo accounts for Trap17. Perhaps your IP is a shared IP where from school, work, library, etc? That will be the only case where the server admin will block from signing up to prevent spam accounts.
If you suspect otherwise, please contact xisto.com/helpdesk or PM me with the necessary information and I'll see if I can sign-up on your behalf.
No, I am not on a shared IP and I tried again with completely different info (new mail address, new name etc.) and it still said 'only one acc per person' so I'll have to consider it blocked. thanks anyway Paul
