For a long time my computer would never boot up with Num Lock on, or at least, it would never stay on once it hit the Windows Logon screen. I lived with it for a while just because I was lazy and didn't want to fool around with it. But then I just made myself fix it and this is the solution if any of you want it. Directions
Here is a little guru trick that often gets me brownie points around the office. Using this registry change, it is easy to set the state of the scroll lock, num lock, and caps lock keys upon bootup.
Open the registry and goto:
HKEY_USERS\.DEFAULT\Control Panel\Keyboard
Change the value of InitialKeyboardIndicators to whichever state you wish...
0 - Indicators off
1 - Caps Lock on
2 - Num Lock on
3 - Caps Lock on and Num Lock on
4 - Scroll Lock on
5 - Caps Lock on and Scroll Lock on
6 - Num Lock on and Scroll Lock on
7 - Caps Lock on, Num Lock on, and Scroll Lock on
Close regedit.... and reboot. ps. I have no idea where I got this from but it was not Microsoft hence why it is in quotes

that shouldn't be hard. Speaking of NUM LOCK: For KDE users go to control panel --> peripherals --> keyboard then change your default setting from leave unchanged to Num Lock On. xboxrulz

I also think some BIOS versions have a setting for Num Lock, Caps Lock and Scroll Lock on boot up, especially on laptops. Although I would not advise accessing the BIOS to any unexperienced users as you may render your computer unusable.

Lock Computer From All Users?
(3) Hey guys at school if I want to sign off or leave and not have any one get back on or mess anything
up I can just lock the computer. Its on a network and really easy ya just hit control Alt Delete
and lock it. What im wondering though is can you lock a computer that isnt on a network just at
home? Because if im working on stuff and I dont want any one to jack it up I just hit switch user
and they cant log into my profile right? But is there a way to make it so they cant log onto theres

i.e. an admin
command which when blocking someone also destroys their sessions if they exist.

way to do it by for each page load requesting to see if they have been banned? - and if so,

Thats gota be a very bad way of doign it - cos it means that every page load
includes a request that 99% of the time wont be needed.
