Instead of the white 2px stroke, you can also do clear.

@Saint_Michael: eh, that's a great idea! I've been using a color for the middle border this whole time... I didn't even consider leaving it clear... I've gotta try that next time!

@thebluekirby: yeah, it really is a simple tutorial, but I was surprised that no one else had done something like it before (maybe I should come up with some more of these simple tutorials for Photoshop beginners XD)

Actually, Brooks showed me how to double stroke, but he did not point out that it had to be inside instead of center.

I've used center, but it just wouldn't work, and I had no idea why either. Then along came this tutorial, and I figured out that it had to be inside instead.

snlil i could have told you that about the inside stroke , yeah when i did the outside and center it didn't look as goo but that was a long time ago maybe i should give it another shot.

Ahh! No wonder it wouldn't show up when I used Outside. I blame photoshop for defaulting it to Outside.

Makes the stroke from the center of your selection, so if you do 1px, it's just your selection, if you do 3, there's an extra pixel on either side of the selection, which in this case would make one of them outside the image, so it would look like a normal 2px one, and so on.

    First of all, it is important that you make sure the image you wish to export is on a transparent
    layer. The transparent layer is a checkered background in photoshop. You can see this checkered
    background in the image to the left. In this example, I created a quick glass icon which has
    different levels of transparency. This is the image I will be exporting, whilst preserving
    it's transparency. Once your image is on a transparent background, head to file > save for
