Hmmmm i am trying to install PHPbbFM forums at awardspace.com, but i keep getting this error: An error occurred trying to update the database Unknown column 'article_' in 'field list' does anyone know how to fix this?

QUOTE(antwill @ Mar 20 2006, 04:30 AM)  Great tutorial only problem is that i cant access ftp im finding it hard to connect and have not had any luck, can anyone at all help me? what ftp program are you using? i use core ftp and have had no problems uploading to trap17. it only asks you for your url, account name and password and you're in. first, i suggest setting up an ftp account through your cpanel. if your lazy like me and don't feel like doing that, you enter your url and the same account name and password you enter to log in to your cpanel in to your ftp program. also, i believe sometimes you need to start your url as "http://ftp." but seriously, i've had no problems using core ftp. it's free, easy to use, and fast in my opinion. you should look where you can download it off google, go to the download site and download it. ......or just upload all your files through your file manager after you log in to cpanel. it just sucks to log in and go to that area every time you want to upload something when you can just click on an icon from your desktop to do all that for you

Very nice tutorial. I think I am going to install this into my forums but I think ill have to research it. I dont really want to mess up all this work annd then have to re-upload. Ill have to see how this forums works, interface-wise and speed-wise etc.

Yay i finally connected to the ftp, i downloaded coreftp and it did not work what so ever. So i read another topic and downloaded WS_FTP and used that, first try i got it connected. So now im all happy.

I think if you have cPanel access, setting up PHBB2 is few seconds job. You dont really need to upload files. Second, did anyone tried punbb? Its lightweight forum software and still gives most of the features. However, it is be not suitable for bigger bords (with 1000+ members) because its admin panel is not fully featured. But you may add adsense ads after first post using just a small module available to be downloaded from their site.
