Help!?!?! - looking for guestbook.

Trystim
Ok i was out looking around at different sites and what not, and I have come to the conclusion that 99% of the guestbooks out there offered on the web for free *BLEEP*.

I wanted to know if any what guestbooks you use / suggest that don't cater to pop up spam / advertisement spam that are free or if someone could code me one.

Thanks for your input and I appreciate it.

hmm man my fav guestbook is the one from http://bravenet.com its actually guest map.. I think they have a banner and a link as advertisement but i still liked it anyway.. Also you can try the php guestbook in the cpanel its also good.I haven't seen any guestbooks without ads on them.

I never tried any of these:
http://www.free-guestbooks.net/ it says it has no banners or ads
http://www.a-free-guestbook.com/ this one has link at the buttom
http://www.iguest.net/ this one also has a link

hope that helped

I'd suggest going into your cpanel and into the addon scripts section and find "Advanced Guestbook", works great IMO.

actually yes referring me to the add on scripts was a big help and I thank you for that information it would of been at least another 2 -3 days till i either a) found that or cool.gif found a free one i liked lol,.

so now i have a guestbook up and running feel free to stop by and sign it i regret that i wont/dont have much time to put into the site right at the moment except on the weekends when i dont have to work lol.

Again ty for the help.

You might (if you cared to still look;) want to try Hotscripts.com (Might be the wrong url.. correct me if I'm wrong. smile.gif)

I use the Adv. Guestbook, the only thing I dislike is it takes a subdirectory, which can be a pain considering it's a 'popup' so to speak. I prefer ones like freewebs.com has, where it's on the same page.. The only beef I have with that is it doesn't refresh when information is entered.

I found a nice cgi one and it said any platform but yet it was a tarball.gz errgo linux based or apache based system for installing sad.gif

but i found another one i might play with and change what i got after i see how it works called i-dreams guest book sounds like it is good description worked for me so guess i check it out and see what i can do with it.

Thanks for your input also Zen.

Hi,
I coded my own Guestbook with php and mysql. Take a look to it in one of my sites grazasmus. It is simple, quickly and easy to customize for your needs. If anyone is interested on the code tell me and i will post it. I use CSS, XHTML, PHP and Mysql.

Do u know much bout chmod and cgi-cripts? (1)
Hi! I'd like to make a guestbook with a cgi-script I found at Lissa Explains it All .
There were instruction bout how to install this gbook: click here QUOTE Active Guestbook
    Unzip the file, you'll find 4 separate files: guestbook.cgi mail.gif url.gif readme.txt 1.
Open guestbook.cgi in a plain text editor like notepad. Find out your path to perl from your Web
host, and change the first line to reflect that. The default setting, #!/usr/bin/perl, usually
works for most servers. If not, you can try #!/usr/local/bin/perl. Save your changes. ....
