Hi I have 30 system in my network I want my network to become slow what I need to do can any one tell me even if there try to browes like yahoo, hotmail, gmail, etc.the pages shoud not open any pages
My network is 100mbps And my internet speed is 1mbps I don’t have any router only unmanaged switch
Oh they want to block the internet basically or rather specific websites, well slowing down the net is somewhat possible I believe by giving each computer a certain amount of bandwidth. I believe bandwidth monitoring software will allow a network admin to do this, however, if your going to be blocking sites get yourself a router or firewall software and then manually type in the websites or keywords you want to block. I know Linksys carries website blocking through its webites, I know McAfee Security Suite can block websites as well.

''doing that can freeze your computer making you have to reboot it, wouldn't that be annoying.

It seems you could be right there. Best bet is as SM said, use your router or firewall to block sites manually, either that or block them using a piece of software like netnanny or another website monitoring/blocking program. I think it might be possible to block some sort of script or something that the email websites use because back at college it was possible to access hotmail.com and to login but when you clicked the login button the page just never loaded despite the fact the site was accessible and the net was fast.
Im confused, why would you want it to go slower? Just so certain pages dont load up?
It doesnt make much sense to me

Hey everyone, I just heard about this Killer Network Interface Card and the whole NPU difference
thing and all. Id like to know if anyone has this or knows if its any good. You see, I figure it has
about a 1250mb transfer rate on it but the website www.killernic.com/killernic wont say the
transfer rate, but what it does say is the difference in ping and such. One of my friends told me
about a video experiment someone did with it and it actually worked really well and dropped the
ping. So what im asking is, is it a get or no get? Yay or nay?....

Hi everyone, I bought a wireless router for internet acces for my laptop. I also have a desktop.
Both connect fine to the router and get good speeds on the internet. The thing is that I want to
set up a home network so that I can have file and printer sharing between my machines. I have the
run wizard on both machines several times (and created the install disks etc), but when I try to
"see" the other machine, it cannot connect. Can somebody please give me some tips/pointers? My

Hello. I have a school requirement in my data communications subject and I'm currently lost.
It’s supposed to be a client-server model proposal for a hospital here in my city. I’m clueless
with regards to computer networks and the hardware specs required for it. I have tried reading
books about it but I’m still not quite sure about the PROPER network TOPOLOGY to be used in the kind
of set up the hospital has. I don’t know any network administrators besides my teachers so I was
hoping to come across with a few here. I just need OPINIONS regarding the kind of ARC....
