| | I stayed up all night yesterday to finish up my 10 page paper for philosophy. My microsoft word normally auto save my work after a couple of minutes..So when I was on my 5th page it was saved but it never saved when I reached my 10th page. So after I put my finishing touches my paper and was about to save it the program froze. I mean I couldn't move the cursor I couldn't do anything..I wasn't running any extra programs so it wasn't that prob...I stared at my screen for a whole hour hoping it will just come back to normal and it didn't...I had to type up the rest of the 5 pages AGAIN! |

I know that had to be a bad thing to happen. Man I also hate that program most of the time. Grr. My stupid computer class has us working in that and we are also working in yet another crappy program which is access. Both of those programs should have never been made. I really think that they are a burden.

Hey all, Just another great program brought to you by M$ aka. Microbloat. Win Word is a huge resource hog & will often crash your puter... even with lots of RAM etc. Try open source programs that will convert your documents to MS Word format for saving. Then.. once you have your content safely saved to disk.. you can open up MS Word to do the final page layout etc. Look at sourceforge.net for MS Word replacement programs. "Open Office" has a good word processor that saves in MS Word format. Hope this helps, RGPHNX PS- my signature says it all re: MS

Happens all the time to me during big graphics projects in C4D, or big posts on the net. That still sucks bigtime though.

ummm,there are nothing problem happned when i use microsoft Word or other office software like Excel or powerpoint.may be you should reinstall again or fix on it.usually this kind of office software work well.good luck...

i don't know why you people always have problem with MS stuff. I have NEVER had MS Word crash on me and I am probably a power user of all MS applications (I do VB scripting and macros). And another thing, don't think open office and linux NEVER crashes... cause it DOES. Just like MAC's are advertised as the most friendly computer, it is actually not as easy to use as Windows. I'll admit, most of my Mac experience is with the outdated OS9 but even then they were saying OS9 doesn't crash. I hate to say it but it crashed ALL the time. Probably 3 times more likely to crash than Win2k. There is no contest between OS9 and XP though.

Sorry to hear your hard work go in vain in a minute. If that makes you hate the word MS and MS word you could be right.. but doesn't the problem lies in your system too? I have not encounter such situation, never in the past so far and I wonder. In fact MS office 2000 and above won't behave strangely that way. If you are using lower versions it could happen. So, I think it has to do with your system configuration as well. Anyways your bad experience makes me feel sorry for you...

I also hate the Microsoft software, every time I use it there's a problem! The same sorta thing happened to me when I was writing an English essay, the whole computer froze because I pressed the spell check button at the end of writing it all up. Unlike your scenario, I save manually and frequently. Luckily, I saved all my work before spell checking, just had to restart my comp again.

I just hate Microsoft products with the exception of their gaming department (incl. xbox) Most Microsoft products are released w/ stolen ideas. Look @ Windows, if it wasn't for XEROX and Apple, they would've never got a GUI. Anyways, I just plainly hate MS-WORD since it crashes, slows don't, a clip that never shuts up and all the annoyance, even after configuration. Also, for some reason, after the auto numbering goes to 9, every spacing messes up. Still figuring why, but it's annoying. I stopped using MS-Office since last year when I moved 90% of what I do on Linux. xboxrulz

It's not the only one out there. We don't like it for legitimate reasons. It's very slow at times, it crashes on us, it's easy to accidentally close on our hard-worked projects... OK that was our fault... (no sarcasm intended) It's the most popular one as well, but we're not blaming it on that. Don't tell me to quit using it then, because I did. It just isn't the thing to use on a high temper...

Microsoft Rant. My Experience As A Customer
(1) This isn't going to be one of those 'mac rules windows sucks' posts. This is why I
dislike microsoft. It began with my desktop computer. The motherboard needed replacing, so we got
it replaced then windows didn't work. the copy that came with the computer didn't work
because the hardware had changed. The company that repaired the computer (I'm afraid of going in
desktops, i don't mind putting ram in laptops though, its not as scary) installed windows for us

(6) Omg.. ok so i think im tramatized, i logged into my msn, for no reason whatsowhever, and some random
guy on my msn sends me an invitation to use webcam, i was like, oh gad how annoying, and i exed it
out.. im guessing msn doesnt believe on ESC, because as i dipped my cookie into the milk and stared
into the screen, saw the guy holding his penis on his hand, and moving it on circles, i seriously

I Hate It When People Come To Look At Our House.
(2) Well, at first I didn't have a problem with that- people coming to look at our house. But what
happened today changed that. For anyone who has ever moved/sold their house, you know what having
someone look at your house is like. Now I'm one of those people who is so neurotic about people
stealing my stuff that I do/did the following things: I put everything upwards of 50$ in my
safe. I put all breakable items out of the reach of little ones I sleep with my cellphone (I am a

I Hate Doctors!
They have no clue what they are doing sometimes! (1) I go to the doctors to get a physical one day, and this doctor had no idea what to do. So I was
sitting there while he kept going back to the main desk thing to ask what to do, or what something
was. It ended up taking me 4 hours to get a dang physical. And my Aunt got SJS(Stevens Johnson
Syndrome), she is in the hospital now. And there is not a single specialist at any local hospital,
so she is just laying there in a bed, hooked up to a Dialysis (does the work for her Kidneys). And
yesterday the doctor's told us her heart was failing, but she is still alive and it&....
I Hate My Teacher!
Even he's a teacher, he don't understand the school rules! (11) This is some part of my school's rule about absency : 1. Bell rings at 6.50 AM 2. Student is
late if he/she come at 7.00 AM or later 3. Student whom late cannot go into classroom and must
stay at detention room untill next class begins I'm sure I've learnt those rules carefully.
And one day, I come after the bell rings. I checked my cellphone clock, it is 6.55. But when I step
up the stairs to my class, a teacher call me and says that I am late! I already told him that

Visual Wd Is The Poorest Attempt Of Programming Yet
Microsoft has let them selves down (0) Well for starters, the installer says it all. It took me 75 mins to install and i got a 4 CPU 3.5
gHz processor, the images still have their magenta background and they look like its been drawn on
paint. You go make an application but you dicide its rubbish - so you delete it, and unlike Basic
and C# your project is still listed with no images and the link is broken, so it just wastes space.
The sqldb's aren't editable - you can just view them THERE ISNT A BUTTON TO PLACE A DIV
IN!!! You click on a panel and the properties dont appear I went to ....
My Chemistry Teacher Makes Me Mad!
i hate her (4) i have this chemistry teacher and she keeps finding new mays to piss me off. the whole school was
doing a project for chemistry, and i was asked by a teacher why we werent doing it.(it was during an
after school credit recovery program). i told her that my chem teacher didnt assign it to us. they

HDD Space (9) Well time for a little "venting" I think ... something that is really annoying me at the moment is
the fact that just the other day I bought a new Hard Disk Drive (HDD). I spent $105 Australian
$ on an 80GB drive ... only to install and format to get 74.53GB ... I think it is stupid that
they remove 5 1/2GB of Disk Space. It really annoys me when companys feel and do get away with
things like this. I didnt spend that amount of money to get a 74.53GB HDD ... I spent that amount
to get a 80GB HDD. Microsoft "Blah" to you.....

2nd hand smoke (101) Who here hate smokers? I mean, they go into a restaurant, sit in a non-smoking section, and smoke,
ignoring the sign. I also want to tell everybody that 2nd hand smoking is actually worse than the
smoker himself smoking it. In Houston, the mayor has already banned smoking in restaurants. Well,
you know my vent, I hate it when people smoke right in front of you while you're in a casual
