Do you hate Internet explorer? or do you want other people to stop using Internet explorer and make them switch to another browser? If yes, then here's the time to show your support. I've started a campaign in which I am requesting people to stop using Internet Explorer, I am sure that most of us know why we've got to do this...I know most of us are intelligent
I think if anyone thinks the way I think..must take part in this campaign and must make other people aware about this...and help them to make a switch!
Here's the link to the campaign - FLING IE |

There is nothing wrong with using Internet Explorer! It's still a pretty decent browser, though lacking in features. In fact I think I'll register my support on spreadinternetexplorer.com just for the sake of it!

Except that it doesn't support all the W3C standards and that includes IE7.

..Honestly, if people want to bring misery and difficulty upon themselves by using IE, then thats their choice. Who am I, or you, for that matter, to tell them what is better? They'll figure it out on their own, eventually. And if they don't, what does it matter to you?

The part that matters to us is what Tyssen mentioned. IE5, IE6, and IE7 are all going to be non-compliant Browsers and it will only compound the difficulties that Web Designers have trying to make their sites work on the web. If the State or country you live in required you to drive in reverse on Tuesday and Wednesday of every week, would you like it? That's how knowledgeable web designers feel about IE. Like they are moving in reverse, back a decade to where every Browser had a differnt set of rules, so it was very difficult to design and code sites. Apparently IE7 is no different. They are refusing to use the standards which have been set for Browsers. Besides, Mr Gates doesn't need any more of my money. He must be getting close to having enough.

I'm all for people having their own choice and not having others' preferences forced upon them and while I'm a fan of Firefox I'm also not the sort of person to actively support anti-IE campaigns. But to answer your question, one of the reasons why it should matter is because IE's failure to fall into line with every other browser maker and adhere to W3C standards is actually hampering the advancement of the Internet. And some people believe that they're actually doing it on purpose. Companies like Google are working on technologies that would see applications delivered over the Internet, with the eventual outcome being that you probably wouldn't need an operating system anymore which will obviously have a serious impact on Microsoft's core business.

As much as I'm a Firefox user myself, most people in the world use IE. As well, there are some sites that require IE and wouldn't work on other browswers. I'll gladly support the campaign for others to stop using IE, but it may still be a long way before everyone abolishes IE once and for all - especially with IE 7 / Windows Vista on the horizon.

I would support an anti-IE campaign, people should speak out against things that don't work properly, don't follow the rules and are so insecure they have to release a bug fix patch every 5 minutes (ok maybe every 10 minutes ). People these days don't speak up when they receive a bad product or service, as a result, companies keep getting rich off sub-standard products

@ tt3 : I think the other responces have already given you my answer @ Tyssen, xaetos, jlhaslip, shigajet, terminal2k : That is why I've started this campaign! Well, my motive is to stop people from using IE...now the story is not that long... Why I jumped into this : Well, I was in techincal support of HP laptopts and almost every call we used to get was related to something like..popups, porn pictures and all spyware stuff....and the reason for that was that people used to visit all kind of rubbish websites using Internet explorer and due to that there computers got infected with spywares. So, I thought that there must be campagin which must stop people from using IE and then I got this idea from one of the website and thought that this a nice way and this way...more and more people will get aware of that fact! Now, coming to IE 7 : as Tyssen & jlhaslip have mentioned..that it also fails to support the standards and secondly..no matter...how secure Microsoft people will make it....there will be always a security hole and SPYWARE people will not hesitate to use that! The reason for that is that still IE is most used browser and SPYWARE makers actually target it!

Internet explorer is too old to be of any use! In the next version uncle bill will copy firefox solutions and thats not ok! If you compare Firefox vs Internet explorer you will see that Firefox is much more faster, realible and it has pages within the one wingow . That why i recommend firefox to every one i know

I don't like IE. It clutters my taskbar because of no tab support, and the MSN toolbar that adds that functionality is bloated. IE is not HTML standards compliant as opera nor firefox, and its getting even more farther away as time progresses and better things come out. It is highly expliotable and you can end up getting a lot more spyware than Opera or FireFox will ever give you because its integrated into the Operating System. Opera 9 has got to be my favorite browser because it integrates everything I will ever need and is HTML standards compliant. My only gripe is that it can load a YTMND right.

QUOTE(Tyssen @ May 19 2006, 10:38 PM) Security bugs maybe, but as for its CSS rendering bugs, they're due to just poor coding.
Yes, I did mean security bugs . And CSS does suck in IE - what is the point of trying to make sites look good in IE? CSS in IE7 is worse that 6 - if that is possible, so shouldnt we just post a little sign on websites only visible to IE saying that this website is against IE and therefore codes accordingly? People say that we should not force people to stop using IE - then they should stop forcing webdesigners to make IE compatible sites...

In my opinion, Firefox is the best. However, when Internet Explorer 7 comes out, my website will have to made to be quadruple IE Engine compatible. Best browsers in order: Firefox, Opera, Netscape, Mozilla/SeaMonkey, Flock (not out yet), Avant Browser, Maxthon, Internet Explorer, MSN Explorer I try to make my site the most compatible, but it is taking too much time.
