Well I got two weeks left in the semester and on August 18th I will have built my first computer

computer hardware and tutorials on building a computer from scratch that most of you will never have
to buy a pre built system again /biggrin.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":D" border="0"

Viruses That Hurt Hardware
- (40)
Recently, my aunt just got a virus... it's not a normal virus that deletes files or monitors my
movements... it's actually a virus that does permanant damage... What it does is that is starts
up with Windows, and occassionally use up your CPU excessively, causing your CPU fan to speed up.
Then it suddenly drops down, so your fan slows down in a sudden stop. This not only hurts your fan,
your CPU, but it also hurts your Harddrive, since your hardware's heat is inconsistent and
jumpy. This resulted in some "harddrive inconsistencies" which made her computer fr...

If Mac Osx Is Best With Hardware, Where Does Linux Lie?
- (1)
Here's a good question: Is Linux better at utilizing hardware efficiently to produce optimal
performance out of your components. I hear a lot about Mac OSX being so much better with Intel
processors and yada yada, but I don't know if this is true or if a bunch of Mac elitists said a
bunch of crap and ran with it. I don't think there are actual comparable benchmarks, but if
there are, where does Linux lie in the hardware efficiency race? (Or is it dependent on which Linux
distribution it is, like how XP still beats Vista in performance?)...

Problems With Vista. (report Will Be Sent To Microsoft)
- List all Problems with programs, hardware and anything else. (11)
hi, before i get started with this ever growing list to this new OS, let me explain the terms of
these programs not working. Windows Vista is a new High end operating system pulling high system
resorces from your computer. The reason some of these programs may fail or plain not work at all
may not always be the OS's fault. The bigest problem with vista is the ram and proccesor usage.
And as an added note, if you want to know why im making so many posts about vista, i am simply
expressing the problems of the operating system to future users. The Beta right now is...

Currently, I am using a Pentium 4 630 (running at 3.0GHz factory default) powered PC which I have

is clocking down to DDR 333) with 240GB (80GB x 3 ) and 4 CD/DVD drives (3x CD-RW + 1 DVD-RW). My
motherboard is being powered by an Intel 865GV Northbridge chipset (800 FSB). It is not like this

What Happens When A Hardware Interrupt Is Generated?
- (1)
The operations that take place when a hardware interrupt occurs are as follows: 1.A special chip
called Interrupt Controller chip receives the interrupt signal. 2.The Interrupt Controller chip
notifies the microprocessor that an interrupt has occurred. 3.To keep track of what microprocessor
was doing before it was interrupted, it saves the contents of registers CS, IP and Flags in stack.
4.The microprocessor retrieves the number of the interrupt from the Interrupt Controller chip.
5.Having found out the interrupt number, it multiplies this number by four (since each add...

You knew it was coming and its now true. Apple will soon offer Windows XP support on Macintosh
systems, a strategy designed to attract new converts. The option, called Boot Camp, is currently in
beta form, and allows Windows XP to run on Intel-powered Macs. "Apple has no desire or plan to sell
or support Windows, but many customers have expressed their interest to run Windows on Apple's
superior hardware, now that we use Intel processors," said Philip Schiller, Apple's senior vice
president of worldwide product marketing. " We think Boot Camp makes the Mac even...

find it from their site feel free to google search it. the program offers an intuitive user
interface and detail report generation. I've been repairing computers for years and the most
annoying thing is trying to track down drivers to a bit of hardware but this program will tell you
brand and model of all the hardware involved as well as often times give you a link to a...
