Halo is a fantastic game, period.
Counter-Strike is good as well, and has a huge following (assuming you mean the original Counter-Strike, not Condition Zero or whatever it's called) - but Halo is obviously much more advanced in the areas of graphics, artificial intelligence, and most other general aspects of the game. The difference between CS and Halo is that one has a fantastic single-player mode (although obviously, multiplayer is still more fun).
even though halo requires some upgrades before you cn play it, it is still a good quality game. apart from that, the upgrades are given by microsoft for free cos you are not required to pay any additional charges for upgrading your WINDOWS OS.
I agree Halo is crap.
Counterstrike is one of the best online games. Check out cs source from the steam site! Doom 3 has the best graphics engine and is better then halo in my opinion! Play doom 3!
How can you even compare Counter Strike, Halo, and Doom 3? CS and Halo are nothing alike - sure, they are both FPS, but they are still very different games.
And of course Doom 3 is going to be better than Halo, in terms of graphics, the engine, and other technologically-influenced aspects of the game - Halo is over two years old, and Doom 3 was only released this month. When comparing games, you can't just judge them on face value - you have to take into consideration every aspect of the game, as well as what was the standard, and the capability of technology at the time (I don't know how many times I've said this). For example, if you compare the original Doom and say, the soon-to-be-released Half-Life 2, you can't just say that Half-Life 2 is better because it has better graphics, faster gameplay, etc.
exactly sauron ive got halo, call of duty and counter strike and i think they're all brilliant i love all of them and i play them all the time. and u say doom 3 is good all it is, is a bog standard fps with next gen graphics. its nothing new except for it does bring fear i thought it was pretty crap and returned it
i played halo single-player (co-operative mode only), and a bit of multiplayer (not onlinE), and i seriously didn't see why everyone thinks it's so good.
even tho i haven't played halo online, i think UT2004 is waaaaay better 
u cant really compare halo and cs.. they're pretty different... i feeel that they're both great games in their own right...

Are you kidding? Microsoft DOES dominate the gaming industry, and always will until sony or nintendo steps up. Halo isn't valued for its 1 player performances, its valued for its multiplayer active, good graphics, and easy to understand controls. How many other games have you seen like this? Most like this don't even have pvp they just have the single player. Plus all the levels, and then theres online. It is definatly a great game. Xbox 360 and its awesome graphics make me can't wait to see halo 3. It will be amazing, and it will live up to all its hype.
I don't think you can make those remarks about how microsoft is wasting cash, unless you live in the bigger gaming cities, actually have experience and have been around, and actually know what your talking about. EVERYONE I know has xbox, has halo, and loves it. Its just that much fun. Agreed you don't enjoy it as much if your a only child, which is why I don't have it, but I got to my friends house all the time because they have like 2 siblings, and its just so much fun.
dude if you say halo is bad then you can just shut up because everyone i know who has an xbox has halo also halo will kick counter strikes butt at anything i dont know why you dont like halo and i cant make you like it but i think you should get an xbox if you dont have one and get the halo 2 that show you the best of halo
Well I do believe that that is wrong. They can make Os's better then games but Halo 2 is a good game. It is totally not a waste of money, now Xbox Live on the other hand cost way to much, I do believe that it will be free someday. So stop hating on Microsoft.
