| | Does anybody here play Guild wars? I heard that it is supposed to be good, but I don't really want to pay for the beta or the game until I know that it's supposed to be cool. Right now, I play Diablo II and Starcraft. Do any of you play Blizzard Games?
I may start playing Warcraft III again. I would like to play WoW, but I don't really want to pay for the subscription fee.
Anybody play this? How is it? Are the graphics good? I have heard that it is fun, but it looks a bit underdeveloped to me. |

Guild Wars is not free you have to at least buy the first initial installation of the game. I don't like it...the idea is bold and innovative but once again the end content of the game is PvP (player vs. player) Not to mention the streaming game data idea is nice for low populated games once you get hammered get ready for up to 5 mins + loading times and since there is no monthly fee get ready to pay 30 dollars + every 2 months to get additional content so they can keep the servers up and running instead of charging the say 15.00 dollars a month for a subscription to the game with constant content updates and additions like WoW they will just nail you for expansions every 1-2 mths to make up for it. In my opinion it is not worth it to get nailed paying for more content every 1-2mths then paying an actual fee for server maintnence and such and just get the content thrown in with it.

You guys are fools. Criticizing a game you have yet to even play. I have played the game since the original World Preview Event to all the Beta Weekend Events and the game has changed dramatically. Trystim you are a fool go to their official website www.guildwars.com and read the FAQ. The expanded chapters are expected to be released at LEAST 12 months apart or once a year. Even then they are completly optional and you can paly without them. Evena fter they are released there wills till be new areas where you can team up with people who have the second chapter ect. I do not believe that you understand the streaming update system either. The game updates itself regularly with patches transfered as you play. There are cosntant updates and cosntand additions why I thinkt eh alst 3 updates awere only a day or two apart. Simply stated it is my opinion that Guild Wars is an amazing game both graphically and technically. And as a fact I can say it trully is unlike any other game before it. Its closest relatives would be WoW or Diablo 2 and even then they are not very simar. If I may quote a review: QUOTE Traditional MMORPG addicts may not find much here to tempt them away from their usual poison. Leveling is quick and painless, penalties for failure are slim, trade skills are practically non-existent --much here would be anathema to a game with the same old Everquest structure. Committed players will hit the level cap in a few days -- but that's really where the game begins... On the other hand, if tedious leveling up, dull combat, or uninspired player vs. player gaming are your quibbles with today's massively multiplayer offerings, Guild Wars is the cure. With its user-friendly and bug-free client, immensely well thought out design, flexible structure, and first-class PVP, NCSoft's latest is off to an excellent start -- and the price is certainly right. Don't miss it. http://gamesdomain.yahoo.com/pc/guild_wars/review/114401

I've had Guild Wars for about 9 months now, and my highest character is 15, and i've only got a bit past Lions Arch I don't know why, but almost every month or so, I make a new character. I don't why, but I just love to make new characters! Anyways, I have a question...Is the mini-pet how long you've had 1 character, or how long you've had the whole account for?

Well I've been playing GW for a while now this is an MMORPG, with Full 3D graphics comparable to WoW (World of Warcraft). The game itself costs around $50 u.s. but has no monthly charge for play online. It just had a Sequel/Expansion come out last month called Guild Wars:Factions. I say Sequel/Expansion because you don't have to buy the original in order ot play Factions but if you have both you get bonus'. Overall the community is really trade centered you have to have a lot of money to get the good things in the game and some items you get are worth quite a bit of money on the market. One of the things I like most about the game is the idea of Dye. There is an assortment of base colored Dyes: Red, Blue, Yellow, Green, Orange, Purple, Silver and Black, all of which can be mixed together to create new colors. But you can add these dyes to any part of your armor or weapon to change it's color. But Dyes are a hot item on the market when it comes to Silver or Black. I suggest everybody go and try this game it's an RPG experience worht taking time out of your day for.

Enemy Territory: Quake Wars
E3 update (0) At the E3 this year, Activision (Publisher), id Software and SplashDamage (Developer) totally blew
everyone of his seat by organising a 24 player lan for the yet unreleased game "Enemy Territory:
Quake Wars". Many people expect ET:QW to be the multiplayer shooter of the year, with combined
elements from games like Wolfenstein: Enemy Territory (The prevorious game the Developer created),
Quake (ET:QW takes place before the happenings of Quake II, in the same universe / setting),
Battlefield (Vehicles etcetera!). ET:QW is a solely online game (No single player), wh....

Enemy Territory: Quake Wars (0) Yesterday there where a few new scans out of the PC:Zone released, which give a lot of new
information and more screenshots on the newest game being developed by Splashdamage and ID software,
called Enemy Territory: Quake Wars, a futuristic game combining Wolfenstein: Enemy Territory
gameplay, the Quake II world, and Battlefield 2 like vehicles! The game still hasn't got a
release date given out, but it will be somewhere in 2006, and I'm probably gonna buy it on the
day it gets released, since this has been the only game I've been waiting for ever /smil....

Star Wars Galaxies: What Were The Devs Thinking?
(1) I beta-tested SWG and signed up for two accounts the day it went live. Something has changed -- for
the worse -- since that time, though. During beta, the devs were all about input, and they actually
listened. Since going live though, they still seek input, but then they turn around and ignore ALL
input received and do their own thing anyway. Case in Point: the combat "upgrade" which was shoved
down our throats recently. We didn't ask for a complete reworking of the entire
combat/weapon/armor/buff/EVERYTHING system... we just wanted balance brought to the old syst....
