That tool is a fairly recent addition to the wide field of virus and spyware removal. One such service that is great for removing spyware is SpyBot Search and Destroy. In my experience this program can remove almost any spyware within your system. Another program which is great is AVG antivirus program. Its made by a company called Grisoft, and has a free edition that is almost as good as the paid service.

Spybot S&D does the job well enough for me. Since Adwares, etc. are pretty sneaky, it's best to keep yourself protected by getting the most you can. However, it's all up to your discretion about which sites you should go to, etc. Since I hardly surf the web, because I spend too much time on IRC channels and in Photoshop, I'd have to say one is good enough for me~!  Thanks for the link, though. I think I've seen that one by Microsoft before but I was too lazy to try it since Spybot does the job for me.

well i'm using trend-micro at the moment... works fine for me... still dont have any problems with spyware or viruses or anything

If any of you still use a host like hotmail or yahoo...I'd suggest that you immedeatly switch to gmail... If you get spam in your normal inbox, you can select it and mark it as spam. Then, whenever email from the same domain comes to your mail it gets put into the spam folder...Really nice ability I'd say... Then you spam folder gets filled up...

Did I miss something in this topic that has something to do with emails??? Anyways, I find that Spybot S & D is one of the best anti-spyware programs. I use Spybot S & D and Ad-Aware. As for Antivirus programs, I use Norton (Hate it but can't get rid of it) and occasionally, I would use McAfee.

I agree with the others here that Spybot Search & Destroy and Ad-Aware are the two best programs to protect yourself against spyware. I'm trying out Microsoft Anti-Spyware and so far it seems to be OK too.

thanks bro...once i had installed a crack file for FIFA 2006...and it isntalled properly and after taht...it freaking popped up like 100 pop ups which was a hard time to close and after scanning my computer u wont believe i found like 1500 spywares in my computer i del most of them including three restarts but they wont go in this way it installed webhancer and some spywares like that on my every single restart so please be careful guyz ...AND DONT EVER USE LIME WIRe

I usually don't worry about it since I use Linux. All cookies have to be run by me first just so I can weedle out the tracking cookies thanks to a feature in Opera.

Yes I use Spybot and norton anti-virus. But there is one very important thing you must remember: update your programs very often! Make sure you have the latest versions otherwise new spyware and viruses could be on your computer that your anti virus etc will not see. If you really want to be protected go buy either: A good anti-spyware/virus software from a store or buy a company edition kind. Company edition tools are usually more expensive, but they are usually much better. To prevent a lot of spyware etc from the start, make sure you know what you are downloading before you download it. If it says in the description of a game "Contains some adware". Then *Don't* download it.

My Spyware-and-Virus-Beating Strategy: *First, use a program that prevents installation of Spyware and Tracking Cookies in IE and Firefox, and also restricts access to questionable sites. The best (only?) one for this, I find, is SpywareBlaster, but you have to update the free version yourself  *Then, use Spybot Search & Destroy. This gives two advantages: 1. Immunity from certain Adware/Spyware/Malware 2. Checks to see if any get on the computer. *Finally, use a good Virus Scanner, but be wary of it's features. I once installed a scanner called V-Eliminator (or something like that... completely sucked. Heuristics wouldn't work at all, and viewing results caused Out of Memory error, even when nothing found).  The best Free one is AVG Anti Virus. Download it and you'll see why Now I just need a good Firewall to finish it off... and preferly I'd like it to continue my Non-MS*-based products. Just a hint though: DO NOT USE MORE THAN TWO SCANNING / PREVENTING SOFTWARES AT ONCE! If you do, you increase the need for resources, slowing down the PC. You also make them less effective  *PS: I refuse to use incorrect abbrieviations in my posts. Including Micro$oft. Edit: Removed my sig from the post, since it made it longer than my screen size (1024*768).

I've just recently installed spybot, and its the best program i've used so far, had no trouble with it at all. Although i will try this microsoft malicious software removal tool see what its like thnx

possible that you'd get an email FROM ONE OF YOUR CONTACTS with a message: "Have you seen the

(7) Here is the deal. I got this video ipod recently and it turns out that it had a worm on it. I was

Install Two Anti-virus Software In 1 System
Is it ok? (35) I found out that AVG Free version isn't eliminating even trojan viruses. I only have this free
version from protecting my system. Is it okay to install one more anti-virus software on top of this
