This is still a BETA, but it's surprisingly stable! I already have ICQ and MSN (together in my instant messenger - Trillian), and I managed to setup Google talk to run inside it using the Jabber protocol (As far as I know, Google is using the Jabber protocol for instant messaging), but I can't use any VOIP features yet . Just hope that Cerulean studios release a Google Talk plug-in soon! I don't want to stick in a bunch of instant messengers in my system tray and slow down my computer so that I can stay in touch with only one person that uses a different IM protocol than me...

My friend told me of GoogleTalk today and I went straight to their website and downloaded it and I must say, it's incredible! It's so simple and pretty  and I can't wait I tell others about it.I think I'll just remove MSN and start using GoogleTalk.

Google really do what peoples need. They showed this with google talk again Its a bit different from all other chat apps. I like that there are no smilies pics yIpI that was so annoying. I also think they should change the way of loging into gmail. When for example you get more then 1 new email and you click on the red envelope in the notify you get to a page where you only see 1 email. The left menu should also be visable. But its beta and I love it! Google is my friend!

Yup msn is much better, as is aim. No need to get ANOTHER im program that not many people use yet. It is in beta though, it will probably be MUCH much better by the time its fully complete. It looks pretty promising, if i get Gmail and it seems better then msn or aim i might use it.

Yeah, I definitely might try this thing out, but I've only ever used one chat program, AIM. And as everyone says it will be hard to use it often when there is no one to talk to...but we'll see what happens...

I wouldn't know I downloaded it, got my friends to download it and the only one of the firends I added to accept the invitation (currently) doesn't use it, another of them downloaded it but cant connect as it says 'error authenticating by server' or something like that, but the login and contacts pages look ok, kind of minimal and clean unlike the ones found in MSN. I wonder how long this will stay in Beta for?

No Google Talk For Linux?
Is there anyway you can use gtalk in linux without opening your browse (6) I've been using linux (kubuntu and just installed sabayon) for the past month and am very happy
with it but for the fact that I can't use gtalk with it. Gtalk is my favorite chat client and I
don't like chatting using a browser. Does anyone know of a way to get gtalk to work in linux?....

Get The Word Out - Google Talk
(13) I think AIM is the most popular IMing service followed by MSN messanger. Google Talk is basically a
dead messanger and no one uses it. If anyone wants to help I say we get the word of this out to all
our friends and to forums. I also suggest we contact PHP, IPB, IF, and other boards to add a GT
button to go along with AIM, MSN, YIM, ICQ, and Email. Also if someone could make a Get Google Talk
userbar it would be a good way to get the word out.....
Video With Google Talk
Will it ever happen? (1) Does anyone think that Google, with it's massive computing capabilities, will ever add video
chat to the Google Talk service? I did hear of some program (it's called Festoon, curently in
Beta; http://www.festooninc.com/ ) that supposedly adds this capability, but it would be nice to
see Google build in this functionality.....
Google Os
(17) There is a rumor going around that google is going to make their own operating system. and they are
gonna put the os on very low cost computers they built. they computers are about 200 dollars. this
is probobly not going to make any money. people are already trying to pick windows, mac or linux. if
your cool you will pick linux. mac still has 5% market share in operating system industry. they
came out before windows. google might get a head start because its google. but they always make it
confusing about what their goals and future. even though they are constantly com....
Google Talk
I'm lovin' it (1) One day I was looking around the Google site, and noticed Google Talk, so I said what the heck and
downloaded it hoping it would install without administrator privelages (which it did). I installed
it, and invited one of my friends who has Gmail to use it; he downloaded it, and after about 5
minutes trying to get my headset working (turns out that the mic was muted) I was chatting in FM
radio quality sound! All I can really say is it's wonderful. No doubt about it.....
Google Talk Online
http://gtalkr.com (10) Well its finally happened someones gone and created a web based interface for Google Talk, to try it
out visit gtalkr.com , it has all of the great features of Google Talk (apart from voip, or at
least I can't find it) and a few new ones such as the searching and labels system from Gmail to
search through old chat logs, it even has display pictures and lists new gmail messeges, so anyway
the only real way to get a feel for the service is to try it for yourself. PS they have reported
server troubles but I am yet to experience any, just in case you can't connect ....
Google Talk
This is a new Google program (4) Google Talk Google Talk is this new instant messaging and audio messaging system that Google
recently created. It installs as a single executable and is quite lightweight. It can install in
around 10 seconds and is feasible even for 56 kbps dial-up users. Although it's quite a nice
thing that the Google Talk has no advertisements, this also means that it's funded very little
and that there's no extra stuff like video conferencing and file transfer, but you can do that
stuff if you download a third-party client (they allow you to do that). They provide y....
