Yes I sure do think that this is a good prank by Google. Offering a 2GB space at this day would tickel anybody's brain.
I remember a prank I read in a magazine as to how BBC once fooled everyone a long time back. They claimed that they have a device which would send "smell" signals through Televisions and people could smell what was being cooked on TV. So now, the recipe program starts on TV and as expected people stick their noses to the TV screen. People actually called the BBC station and claimed that they could smell the raw coffee that was a part of the ingredient. Hah.
I think it's not literally 2 GB. I have used 17 MB, i can only see 1336 MB. It would be great if they create an e-mail client that will check my messages more faster, still store them on their server.

i noticed this too. my gmail account is slowely getting more and more space... it's going up at about 100mb an hour, and from what you said, i'm guessing it will stop at 2GB

Nope. I knew about GMail once it came out. It was invite only. But I don't know how people got them at first.

Yeah, everyone thought Gmail was going to bomb when it just came out, but god, it has so much space now. It's almost unreal for a mailing Service. *believes google is god*
Yeah! It isn't an April Fool's Joke!
It's currently early 2006, and Gmail is almost at the 3 Gigabyte amount of storage! Wow...The only other free email site that has 3 Gigabytes that I know of is known as Walla (http://www.walla.com) ! However Walla does not give out POP3 email accounts, whereas Gmail does.
Ah always remember google is god, now I hear that their coming out with mobile mail you can even probably sync it up with your PSP I heard someone say in ventrilo. Gmail is the best, I use it at school in my webdesign class to e-mail my stuff home to my main account, or I can just do what same to my gmail account and check my personalized google homepage with gmail updates every second..google is god, and with google video able to instantly change every video to PSP or ipod video format its an amazing tool.
